I’m a stylist and one of the most important things I learned early on was when your gut (and education) says don’t do it.. don’t do it. It’s ok to tell a client “your hair wouldn’t survive this kind of service”
Did the second lady say she was a WEEK out from her wedding?!? That is not the time to try someone new, especially for something as delicate as bleaching 😬
I feel for her though, I had a stylist I loved and trusted for 10 years until she retired, and I haven't found anyone else even close to her level since 😭
Lol I’m Mexican and suing or calling the police for something minor like a hairstyle gone wrong is an absolute waste of time, nobody will care. Not justifying the hair stylist though. Just thought people should know this if they visit Mexico
Not a hairstylist, but someone who has dyed their own hair for 10+: you DO NOT leave bleach in your hair for longer than 45 to 60 minutes, and the is PUSHIING IT! The stylist should have known and warned the client that black to any shade lighter will take time a more than one session and done a strand test to make sure the bleach wouldn't damage the hair.
As a former hair stylist, I was nice and down to earth. Some of these monster women really hate their clients and do not want the best for them. Hairstylist jealousy is so real.
The point of pincurls IS the brushout. You keep brushing through the poof until sleek waves. Shed know that if she knew a single thing about vintage style
She didn't deserve to have her hair ruined, but PERSONALLY if i knew i was highly allergic to something, i wouldn't be partaking in it AT ALL, let alone right before my wedding. Allergic to most dyes/toners? You won't find me anywhere near a salon. Allergic to most nuts? Guess I'm on a nut-free diet. To each their own, but i dont play when it comes to allergies.
Hairstylist here: Going from a dark brown/ black and trying to go to an ash/mushroom brown can be tricky depending on how light you want to go. In order for an ash tone to be prominent it needs to over power the warm tones underneath it. So if you want a level 6 ash brown, you likely need to lift to a level 8 (which is blonde at that point). Lifting her to a level 6 would have been doable, but there would have been so much warmth leftover at that level that I don't think the final product would have the reflect she wanted. You can't just lift to your desired level and then slap a toner on, at least not always. I don't know what happened during the consultation or what her full expectations were, but had she been in my chair, I would have told her I didn't think we'd be able to get to that shade (brown sure, light ash brown no) in one session. Especially without knowing how her previous color would lift out.
I would never allow any influencer to touch my hair with a ten foot pole.
And Im not victim blaming, Im victim WARNING.
These types of "hairdressers" are not doing hair for the love of hair, they are doing it for content. There is a huge difference.
When you are centering your career around social media, that is your main focus thus all the focus that should be on your customer is on your viewers instead.
My hair is hip length. I guard it with my life.
I not only read reviews, but require knowing actual people that have tried out the hairdresser first.
Girls!
Stop going to influencers for your beauty needs. Stop now. They dont care about your beauty - they care about theirs only.
16:10 she's on minoxidil tablets and she did a full scalp lightener? on somebody who has hair loss issues? I'm tired y'all.
Please If anybody damages your hair to a point where you have such severe breakage and they do not refund you, or work with you in any way shape or form, report them to the licensing board.
Ammy! I was in a philosophy class today and a notification of your video popped up & a girl I met said “omg I watch her too”— you have fans here in Vancouver Canada ❤
Waiting until the last minute with an influencer stylist ✅ not happy with the results ✅ KEEPS HER FOR THE WEDDING ANY WAY and is late for her own ceremony ✅ at what point is it a user error? Maybe the stylist is shady but if I had done this to myself by waiting a week before MY wedding, I’m cutting losses and everyone is doing their own hair before I pay her more money
