I have never thought about the circle,  square and triangle  shapes. But putting puzzles together is very challenging.

Just found you…I live in the mountains so the big triangle is dominate in my work. Prime form and primary colour are an interesting design concept…I am a retired design teacher in a British Columbia. Style comes from painting a lot and “unconsciously.”  I think it’s the choices you make you don’t even know you are making, the things that you feel comfortable with, and I think in order to change you need to start by challenging one of these unconscious decisions.  Even then you will have things that come out, that repeat, and not necessarily be able to verbalize it. I can’t describe my “style” but I can’t seem to get away from it and when I do, I feel uncomfortable and like my paintings isn’t “me.”  The answer is to paint more. I kl earn new things or get new ideas and eventually they are absorbed and transmuted into being “mine.”
