Hello Wild Ones! Hope you’re all good, happy Spring :) Bad weather car & tarp camping coming next! :D It’ll be a shorter video and I think all my appointments are done for now, so shouldn’t take me so long to put together yay

---- TLDR Update & Plans Stuff! ---

Things are finally looking up here! As you can see, I now have a wonderful place to camp right next to my car, this is an absolute gamechanger and I’m hoping there’ll be a better flow of content while I wait for surgery :D I’m on a low dose painkiller now which is allowing me to get on until I’m fixed. This isn’t ideal and I’m not one to take pills usually but this has all been going on so long now I’m kinda out of options and I need to be able to do what I need to do with the burning pain through my chest somewhat reduced

I’ve recently had my final scan, and from this one I was told my Haller index on exhale is 8 🤯 (normal chest being around 2.5 Haller and severe deformity being around 3.5). I was shown how there’s no room in the middle of my chest so sometimes my heart is hanging out in the left side, and sometimes the right side of my heart is being squished into the small gap between my spine and breast bone, which compresses the right ventricle. This is why I’m getting puffed out so easily and it was super interesting to see. Hopefully my case will go to the MDT soon and I’ll get a decision on the NHS funding and I can get out of this limbo.. keeping everything crossed!

With your unbelievable generosity, you have doofed a wonderful financial buffer my way which has been set aside for the first months after the bars go into my chest when I won’t be able to do much. I cannot say how grateful I am and what a burden you’ve lifted from my shoulders. Thank you so much 🥲

What’s coming is going to be a long process, the bars will be in my chest for 3 years and I won’t be able to reach my full potential until after they’re removed, but I’m hoping to be able to camp again and go for hill walks without the rucksack by 3-6 months with the bars in place. Of course, this is just a hope and I have no idea how things are actually gonna go. And I don’t know how long it’ll take for my body to accept the rucksack again – lots of unknowns!

In order to keep things ticking in the longer-term and take the pressure off, I’m going to be launching memberships. It’ll be a place where I can post easier or random content that would otherwise be damaging for the main channel algo, and I’ll be able to feel like I’m giving you a lil extra something for your support too, which is important to me. I’ve been editing a few old (sub-par? haha) videos of content that I never got around to creating that I’ll stick on there, and I’ll be able to post some general chit chat and random stuff on there in my recovery months too. I’ve not set it up yet, but I’m getting things ready behind the scenes. Regular content will be on the main channel as normal of course :) it just takes me a long time to make and in the current circumstances I’m not able to rely solely on it like I used to. EDIT//Just launched Wild Ones Extra :) https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKBUeKsqzKWSxp4pahxljBw/join

I feel like everything is gonna be ok in the end! And that is thanks to you guys! Along with the ongoing work of my surgeon and @PectusMatters who are doing so much to help those of us with wonky chests to get treatment and to get our lives back

The wild gets closer with each passing day! Keep everything crossed for me guys! It’s now about a year since I started going to the doctors with the chest pain and breathlessness. The last 12 months have been hard, but the funding decision should be coming soon and I so hope it’ll go in my favour and I can start moving forward with this 🙏Much love, CB Xx

Round applause for Shirley for allowing Claire to use her land ❤

'There's so much I haven't lost' That's so beautifull. That will be my motto for the rest of my life...❤

It is hard to explain how fast my stress and anxiety drops when I hear those words. "Hello, wild ones"  Thank you.

I'm a 70 year old disabled man in a wheelchair , I ve been watching your videos for almost ten years , it seems like , maybe 6 or 7 years , I really love your videos  , I wish you the best of health from Ector , Texas .

You need to be the voice behind an audio book or relaxing pod cast or something, people would definitely pay because your voice is just so soothing and calming honestly xx

The sound of your voice is very soothing and relaxing to me , thank you for bringing the beauty and serenity of the outdoors to those who can no longer walk around outdoors .

Everywhere you go Claire, you say how lovely it is, yet the truth is that it's your soul that is lovely, you see beauty in everything and if the world had more people like you in it things would be a hell of a lot better. Don't change.

18:50 "Doof." I love it! Your British English gives me a charge. I learned the word, "bap," for sandwich, and that's fun. Love your videos! ❤

Your grief over the loss of hiking is absolutely valid. I’m so glad you found a way to keep camping and be happy. Thanks so much for this video, I loved it!  Car camping is the best. You’re an inspiration. ❤️🌲

Thank you, Claire, for being your authentic self, for spending time out in nature, for the great food, for your humour, and for simply enjoying life once more. It genuinely gladdens my heart and fills me with joy to see you in this way.

I hope you realize how much you touch all of the souls in your videos, more over I'm hoping that you feel all of us sending beautiful thoughts and well- wishes your way.

You are simply beautiful inside and out Claire 🐻

Dear Claire, I found your channel back in January after I lost my dad unexpectedly. Somehow watching your videos brought me a source of comfort that I didn't know I needed. And now your beautiful words on loss and acknowedging pain speak to me so profoundly. Thank you for your videos, and for being a small solace for me these past few months

Love these homely videos with the sound of rain. Very therapeutic to watch someone cooking and retiring for the night in the outdoors. Many of us appreciate elegant simplicity. No need for long hikes and mountain climbing - so many of those already! 😅

So glad you're back even if not at full strength!

What a brilliant update!

Seeing that tent setup right next to your Range Rover makes me so happy – it really does look like a total gamechanger for getting back out there. Spring camping with the tarp and car setup is going to be awesome, and I’m really looking forward to the shorter video coming soon!

It’s great to hear things are finally starting to feel like they’re moving in the right direction. Your positivity and determination to keep creating content and staying connected to the wild are seriously inspiring.
Thank you for sharing the journey so openly. The support you’re getting from the community is well deserved – you’ve lifted so many people’s spirits with your videos, and it’s lovely to see that energy coming back your way.

Wishing you smooth editing, better weather for camping, and plenty of peaceful nights under the stars very soon. The wild is definitely getting closer!
Keep being your brilliant self, Bear. Much love and strength heading your way!

Stay wild!

Nice to see the Queen of the double entendres  , Happy and out in the Wild

Lovely to see that also young ladies have found the luxury of the simple life in the Nature. Life is more luxury without being «entertained» all the time by tv, social medias, etc, but just live the simple life in the woods. 👏🏻👏🏻

And, the first double entendre of the show is at 2:08! Didn't take long!

My dear, you’re not old. I’ve reached 70 and not done the things I’d hoped. You’re well ahead of my pace. God’s speed. ✝️🙏🏻❤️
