I forgot how good this song was.

Release is a must

One of their Best!!!!!!

I love your Pearl Jam reactions. They are the best band of all time in my opinion

This came out when I was 25. Now at 57, it's now full circle and hits like a titanium hammer.

Yay! Pearl Jam again

FIRST OF ALL  , I AM HAPPY AND PROUD OF YOU WITH YOUR JOURNEY PAST YOUR HEALTH ISSUES , YOU ARE DOING A GREAT JOB HERE WITH THESE REACIONS AMD I FOR ONE ENJOY YOBEAUTIFUL SMILE ...KEEP PUSHING  ON AND DO WHAT YOU LOVE ..TY .....oh yeah great reaction to this beautiful pearl jam song

this to me is their best song ever and listen to the studio version

On the Pearl Jam channel on XM, Stone Gossard (the guitartist playing the acoustic on this one) said this song always changes their concerts and kind of opens them up, when the crowd sings the big "Hello." The shows just cranks up a notch when they get to that exact part.

Been a Pearl Jam fan since Ten came out. Seen them many times live. Eddie’s voice is unmistakable and beautiful

This song definitely has a nostalgic quality to it and reminds me of growing up as a teen in the 90s 😥😊

So glad you got to hear this song, as it’s seriously special. There are so many great Pearl Jam songs that just aren’t being reacted to and it’s something that needs to be rectified.

Immortality is another great one along these kind of lines. 👌

I'm not sure there was many other bands other than Pearl Jam that had their first three albums be this fantastic since the likes of the Beatles, Sabbath, Zeppelin, and The Who. Even the Stones didn't really come into their own until after their fifth or sixth album. There also aren't really many other bands of this era that are still going strong, making new music and touring consistently. Yes, the Stones certainly have them beat on that front, but Pearl Jam is still rocking it 35+ years later.

I graduated high school in 1995, so you can imagine what it was like being in junior high and high school through the late '80s and early '90s during the explosion that came out of Seattle and a few other places, absolutely glorious during the midst of teen angst 😅

I think that in terms of musicality, lyrics, and the fact that they are one of the few bands that actually survived to have a long career set them up as one of the all time greats. Sure, they've gone through a slew of drummers for different reasons, mostly in the first few years, but even all of them lived through their troubles and had decent careers behind a kit no matter where they ended up. Matt Cameron stepped down last year, parting on good terms after almost three decades, but we don't yet know who got the job. They picked a replacement and are being all secret squirrel about it, but I'm excited to see who it will be when they play live again later this year. I try to catch them every now and then, having seen them live six times by now, I think. Eddie is now in his 60s, and still sound great.

hearing the audience join in and sing aloud lyrics you've written, must be one hell of a rush

Being there live and hearing them playing that song is an awesome experience. It’s so fun and just feels so good.

Love Pearl Jam! They have a super deep and consistently great catalog. Really recommend watching a full concert from them (and seeing them in person if you can).

Eddie has a great voice, and also a really unique one. His singing style is one-of-a-kind. Crazy how he and Chris Cornell, two of the most amazing rock voices ever, came out of Seattle grunge bands at about the same time.

I'm glad that this song resonated with you Nikki, music can make such a difference in people's lives.

Omg, I sooo much love this song. Thank you  Nikki

Please do "Present Tense", live on the Late Show With David Letterman by Pearl Jam.

A slightly different kind of recommendation...

If/when you ever get word of Pearl Jam touring, see if you can't figure out how to attend a show. I've attended a handful of shows and they were some of the most fun/interesting shows that I've attended.
