Fun fact: vulture’s voice actor for this game is also the same as the PS4 game

everyone says that in the early Spider-Man games, web swinging is unrealistic because his webs just go into the sky and have nothing to stick to. This is ridiculous, because obviously he's able swing that way because his web lines travel up into heaven, where uncle bens spirit grabs them, holding them up and allowing his nephew to swing.

Tobey having that whole “can’t stop time from moving on” speech is the most real shit I ever heard in my life.

If I recall, Keaton was going to voice Spider-Man early on In development but then They got Tobey to come In. So Keaton got recast as Harry. Some of His lines got reused In the Goblin Campaign.

At 5:22, it took me FOREVER to realize that the guy who's talking was supposed to be Uncle Ben, because he sounded nothing like the actor, and he just sounds to odd in general. XD

"No matter how much you want to hold onto a moment, you can't stop time from moving on"
. . . totally not my senior yearbook quote.

ACTUALLY, Peter didn’t happen to be where Scorpion was, Norman Osborn told the Hunter Killers to force Scorpion to go where Spider-Man is to capture both of them at the same time.

The way the web physically takes shape as he shoots it out of his wrist is such a cool visual and really well done for the cgi of the time.

The Vulture chase destruction mechanic comes back in Ultimate Spider-Man when you chase Beetle and Goblin. Gotta save those civilians like a spider do.

Did you know this game was banned in some countries because of the play as Mary Jane cheat? You retain the model through most cutscenes and that includes the final one where Spider-Man kisses Mary Jane, so while wearing the MJ costume you technically have a girl on girl kiss and that got the game banned lol.

Idk why old video game textures are a lot more appealing to play than super realistic graphics

6:45 apparently, it’s supposed to be another code you can enter as a cheat code. However, I remember this creeping me out as a kid.

I'm proud to say I've managed to make it through the Oscorp levels without getting the alarm raised once.

GET BACK HERE SHOCKER! SHOCKERRRRRRRR! YOU CAN’T ESCAPE ME! I’LL CHASE YOU TO THE ENDS OF THE EARRRRRTH!

I love this game. It's basically an updated version of the Spider-Man game on the ps1. All the mechanics are basically the same but just updated and slightly refined.

"GO OUTSIDE AND PLAY"
I lost my shit at that point XD

I can't believe I don't remember Spider-Man telling me to touch grass

I love this game and its sequels. There’s actually a video that I've linked below that goes over the entire Sam Raimi Spider-Man timeline including all the extra content and characters the games, novelizations, and comics contained. (This is the way I view the Raimi-Verse)

Two other things:
1. Originally Josh Keaton was hired to play Spidey if they couldn’t get Tobey Maguire. When Treyarch inevitably did get Tobey on board, they repurposed and re-recorded Josh Keatons lines to work for Harry Osborn. (I honestly don’t mind Tobey Maguire’s voice acting as Spidey. Sure it’s not great but they material he was given was so good and proves that he can be a relatable and dorky Peter Parker and a jokey and heroic Spider-Man)
2. If you play the Xbox version, you’ll get two exclusive levels taking place in between the bomb mission and the razor bat fight. These missions let you fight the Raimi-Verse version of Kraven the Hunter, who’s been hired by Norman to hunt Spider-Man down.
In short 8/10 game, would play again.

3:28 yeah so the game devs started development before the movie was finalized, and were working off an early draft of the movie script. Hence the web fluid mechanic and the ending of the game matching closer to a scrapped ending of the movie than the theatrical. The organic web fluid cheat was added towards the end when the devs found out about the change in the movie

My brother in Christ, you said "beating Goblin off" not once but twice.
No, but forreal this game is heavily underrated. I loved the breaks in the action to save people and actually how many levels Goblin got. It really built a sense of rivalry and each one just built up the finale for me. Loved this game as a kid and still do now. And the Alex Ross skin changing not only Spidey but Gobby too was super cool. Not to mention Goblin being playable himself. That would not happen today. At least not for free

Why would Maguire having organic webs mean he'd never run out? It's a bodily fluid: those are finite. Do you have an infinite amount of blood?

Real spiders can produce enough silk that they effectively nevwr run out, but it still has to be replenished, and they've evolved with glands specifically for that. Raimi's Spider-Man is shooting the webs out of his wrists. Presumably he has grown silk producing glands in his forearms but they probably aren't as robust as an actual spider's. They're function on the nutrients provided by a human diet, for one thing.
