That rice pudding place made me realize, aren't Ice cream parlors also a 1 item restaurant?

No matter how good the fries are, they are NOT worth $17; unless you're getting a giant bucket of fries for all your friends, which you don't.

In today’s comment section: Dylan finds out that people love rice pudding a lot more commonly than he thought

6:18 considering this place “one item” is like calling an ice cream shop “one item”. Like it’s a particular cold desert served in many flavors. It’s basically an ice cream shop. Just like places that sell gelato or similar.

You went in with a gimmick mind-set.

I started watching with a 'if they're only doing ONE thing, they must know how to do it well' mind-set.

All of these places have been in business for over ten years in NYC which is enough to say they’re  probably not a gimmick.

'Nobody has ever craved rice pudding' 'uncommon dessert' and 'we can all agree mac n cheese is a side dish'. Are we living on different planets? Because none of these made any sense to me.

12:30 Good thing this guy doesn’t have a math channel: 6000 bc, and 3.5 right in the middle of 5

I love how almost every comment is someone from a different country or culture talking about how much they love their version of rice pudding and how it's a childhood comfort food.
Same here in Germany it's called Milchreis and we have it either with brown butter and cinnamon sugar or cooked cherries/stewed red fruit.
The only thing better is Grießbrei which is a kind of semolina cooked with sugar and milk with the same topping. I like the texture better and it's easier to make.

I would much rather eat at a restaurant that does one dish really well than one that has 40 different mediocre ones

Calling that a year's worth of Mac n cheese is wild, that's about half a plate of what I have twice a week 😂

rice pudding is actually really common in norway and id say most people here really like it. we even have rice cream that we eat during the christmas holidays, its tradition.

Maybe it's common in Mexican culture, but we love rice pudding, it's called arroz con leche, and yes, we do crave it, especially homemade topped with sprinkled cinnamon.

Fun fact: In Denmark, people eat a kind of rice pudding every Christmas, and they hide an almond in it. The person who finds the almond gets a gift.

Bro that Mac n cheese was REAL cheese. Finding a place like that is gold. Most places will use a nasty cheese sauce that people will tell themselves is good but isn’t.

Rice pudding is actually quite common in many cultures 😅

Rice pudding (kheer in my language) is literally the most famous desert in my country so I totally get why someone would make a restaurant for it. It’s genuinely so sooo good and versatile!!

5:20 as a rice pudding lover i feel attacked

Fun Fact: Rice to Riches was rumoured to be serving as a front for money laundering for years. The last time I went there,my rice pudding combo was also the cheesecake and French toast flavour as well.
