I find Marilyn Manson to be the easiest subject for me to write a lot about, so I figured I'd make these "smaller" videos in-between my big retrospective episodes to give myself more work while I'm busy working on other projects. This one focuses on the idea of the Devil as presented on his first album, and how it compares and contrasts with Antichrist Superstar.

This is my favorite Manson album. I'm an old "spooky kid" from this era, so this was like a trip down memory lane for me. I saw them live many times around the NY area & back then, it was like being in on a secret right before it was exposed to the rest of the world! I thoroughly enjoyed your analysis & the imagery too. Thank you for doing this! It made me smile.

Daisy (SMP) was a mastermind of musical talent. If there was an alternate timeline where he stayed in the band I’d love to see how the band turned out.

That sigil was what David Berkowitz/The Son Of Sam Killer signed his letters with. I used to sign my art with it under the name "Deform School" which was given to me by Scott Putesky aka Daisy Berkowitz. When he passed away i got it tattooed on my wrist with green accents to sybolize his green hair he had as Daisy.

black keys: metaphor for dark aspect of personality in an interplay with other keys on a piano to form the piece of work. Also, play the beginning in reverse and you will hear "you will die, hahaha".

If you only play with the black keys, you get no disharmony. It’s pentatonic. So you don’t need rules. Everything makes sense.

I'm 41 and this album came out when I was 12. It hands down is still my favorite album of all time. It gave me goosebumps and it changed me.
