Mariah is a driven MBA student pursuing her dream of becoming a CFO at a Fortune 500 company, but her fiancé Josh and his traditional family believe she should abandon her education to focus on being a housewife and starting a family. When Josh's parents pressure Mariah about having children and suggest her MBA program is unnecessary now that she'll be a "Cutler," tensions escalate in their relationship. Josh becomes increasingly controlling and resentful as Mariah continues attending classes and building friendships with fellow students like Jake, viewing her academic pursuits and career ambitions as a threat to their future together. As the conflict intensifies, Josh grows more desperate to convince Mariah to quit school and embrace what he sees as her proper role as his future wife, while Mariah struggles to balance her relationship with her determination to achieve her professional goals.
