I love Meryl Streeps reaction when she loses! She actually looks happier than when she wins!!!

So cool how Meryl Streep is so happy, that her friend Cher, won the Oscar.

Judging by the audience reaction, Cher was certainly a popular Oscar nominee and winner in 1988.

FUN FACT: Cher had two songs in Billboard Top 20 when she won the Oscar.

A multi-talented icon indeed.

Meryl seemed happier that Cher won than Cher did

Yes, Meryl Streep's reaction was great. But Glenn Close also reacted extremely classy and elegantly! She's such a wonderful lady! I hope she wins an Oscar soon, she deserves it so much!

Meryl Streep jump to her feet to congratulate her friend CHER I thought that was so lovely and genuine

oh my god meryl streep looks pretty.

She looks gorgeous. That gown is as show-stopping and distinctively Cher, as well-deserved and fabulous as her golden Academy Award.

Cher really wanted to win so badly you could see it in her eyes. Meryl Streep is one of a kind, classy beyond words. I simply love both of them.

"I don't think this means that I am somebody, but... I guess I'm on my way"

This will forever be my favorite line from an Oscar acceptance speech.

Cher is 75 today and still rockin' the house!

Hahaha, I laughed at 1:32, when Sally Kirkland got furious that she had lost and then made a fake smile and claped.

i love what she says "i dont think that this means that i am somebody, but i guess i'm on my way"

I adore Moonstruck and Cher's performance in it. I still watch it once a year. It has stood the test of time.

Just the fact that Cher (age 41 at the time) and Nicholas Cage (age 23) were able to pull off a romantic couple so convincingly, makes me think they both deserved Academy Awards.

Everyone’s talking about Cher and Meryl Streep and I’m over here like, “DAMN, Paul Newman was such a friggin Stud 🔥 🔥

Cher was the crowd favorite as they exploded into cheers and applause when the gorgeous and elegant Paul Newman announced her as the winner. This “at home” movie lover was also thrilled to see her win. She was also excellent in “Silkwood,” the movie referenced in her acceptance speech in which she acted with Meryl Streep and Kurt Russell. That film should also be on every movie lover’s must watch list. I’m glad Oscar said “Take Me Home,” Cher. 🎶🎬❤️🎬🎶

I love Meryl´s reaction so much. She is a great human being.

This is exactly why I love Cher. To me, she is the definition of “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger” and she’s the embodiment of triumph, perseverance, and strength. I look up to her so much and hope to one day have the amount of courage, strength, and joy in living that she has.
