Throughout the years, the Sonic The Hedgehog franchise has lead to many bootlegs and knock off products. It’s almost like law that whenever there’s a popular franchise, imitators will always be there to produce knock off products to cash in on it, and the Sonic The Hedgehog series is absolutely no different. Today, we’re diving into the seedy underbelly of Sonic merchandise, bootleg Sonic products. In this video, I cover bootleg Sonic toys and merchandise of all kinds. Be it a figure, a plush, CDs, clothing, or even fake games, I cover many examples here.

For years now, people have asked me to cover bootleg merchandise. Whether it be figures, plushes, and I've finally done it! An Extensive Look At Bootleg Sonic The Hedgehog Toys & Merchandise ! Extensive being a pretty fitting term, given this video is nearly 40 minutes long. I knew a topic like this would make for a huge video, and yet there's still so much I didn't cover! With that said, I tried to make this video into an overview of bootleg Sonic merchandise.

Bootleg merchandise has always been fascinating to me, and while I do not recommend you support it, it is really interesting to look into. This video took weeks of writing, preparing and editing, but I am beyond happy with the results! This is one of my favorite videos I've done, I was able to cover so much in it! With that said, if you enjoyed this video, consider supporting it! Be it liking the video, subscribing to my channel, following me on Twitter or even supporting me on Patreon! Share this video with all of your bootleg-loving friends that I'm sure you have, or post about it elsewhere. Anything you can do would help me out a ton. Thanks!

I hope you all enjoy this video as much as I did making it! Enjoy the video!

Most of these bootlegs are just their own Sonic ocs.

I have a friend who actually knows where the Harry Potter Obama Sonic backpack originates from. It's somewhere in India, however, it has been replaced by other knockoffs.

The funny thing about the fake Sonic X Silver plush is that Silver probably would have appeared in the anime had it not ended when it did. The final episode of Sonic X aired on April 18, 2005, while Sonic 06 was first announced at E3 during May 18-20, 2005, pretty much exactly one month later. Because of how close they were, the bootleggers who made the Silver plush probably assumed that he DID appear in the anime and bootlegged him accordingly.

I miss the days when the suspected Resaurus fakes were the only sketchy things you'd find in an ebay search. I know a lot of these bootlegs are wacky but I hate how things like the Kid Galaxy bootlegs really took off.

Oh my god! I had that exact bootleg Sonic plush in the middle at 34:40! I won it from some carnival game years ago!

I swear to God I actually saw a bootleg Obama Sonic back pack at a flee market near the Cape Town CBD in Southern Africa back in 2008-2009. I think it was near the city hall or Greenmarket Square, lots of bootlegged stuff still gets sold at the stalls there, even to this day.

polish person here! small translation for the promotional stuff on Ogórki (spelled "o-goorki" btw): "nasz Smoczek poleca smaczne ..ogóraski-chrupaski!" - "our Little Dragon reccomends delicious... crunchy-cucumbies!"
they made Sonic into a dragon of all things which is honestly insane

yea i found snoot boy here on Brazil, tho, he was quite expensive for a bootleg, he was being sold as if he was official, lmfao, pretty sure they didn't know it was a bootleg and sold it without checking it out
