It is truly refreshing to see Catherine Zeta-Jones embrace her authentic Welsh roots. After a career of mastering countless accents, witnessing her find creative liberation in the Swansea dialect is simply classy. I'll make sure to watch Kill Jackie if I get the chance!😅✌️😍:)

I still like Rob Brydon's story of Catherine when he was on Richard Herring's podcast. When he got to meet her once, either was in America or the UK, I can't remember. He said he was a bit drunk, could hear her greeting everyone in her American accent. Then he got to the front of the queue and said he went to same school as her etc. She then switched to her Welsh accent and was pleased to see him :)

There was a Welsh man in our town who owned a store.
He didn’t talk, he ‘sang’.
The first time that I’ve ever heard this musical accent and I loved going into his shop just to hear his voice.

My mam's oldest sibling was Uncle Jackie. My family is from Tiger Bay, "The Docks", Cardiff.  I may have been born a Yank, but my heart is Welsh. My mam's oldest brother is Uncle Jackie.  His ex-wife moved from Cardiff to Swansea.  And as a musician and a lover of Classic Pop/Rock, my twin brother and I adore Bad Finger from Swansea as well.

Not only is her speech beautiful, I’ve always been in awe of her talent and physical beauty.

She's Cymry? I never knew! This reminds me of Kevin Durand finally getting to use his real accent in Abigail after decades of hiding it - he is Franco-Ontarian (a type of French Canadian) and was told he didn't have the right accent for an actor and that he should avoid using it even in interviews.  People should get to use their real accents more often. Like, I get all actors play roles that involve accent work sometimes...but Catherine Zeta-Jones has been in the business for decades, and I didn't even know she was Welsh because she never gets to be Welsh in her roles, and Durand was literally told to hide his accent like it was a shameful secret. Seems like Hollywood should be okay with hearing more than just the same handful of accents over and over. The Swansea accent (I believe that's the specific Welsh accent they said she has) is very beautiful! Maybe someday she will get to speak some Cymraeg! That would be really cool!
