Philip Kovce in conversation with Wilhelm Schmid on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at 8 p.m. at Unternehmen Mitte in Basel.
Who wouldn't want to: survive their own death? And who hasn't already done so: survived the death of acquaintances, relatives, or loved ones? The question of life and death is as old as humanity itself – and yet it poses itself anew for every individual. Reason enough to continually re-examine life with death and the cycle of dying and becoming.
About the speaker: Wilhelm Schmid, born in 1953, lives as a freelance philosopher in Berlin. He studied philosophy and history in Berlin, Paris, and Tübingen, taught at various universities, and worked for many years as a "philosophical counselor" at the Affoltern am Albis Hospital. He has published numerous bestsellers, including most recently "Surviving Death: On Dealing with the Unfathomable" (2024).
