Thank you all for watching this with me.  Let me know if the sequels after 'Aliens'(1986) are worth the watch!

a perfect use of a slow burn to set up the atmosphere.

it was A 6’7” tall Nigerian man in the Alien suit. His name was Bolaji Badejo. Sadly he passed away on 1992

After The Alien movies, her comedic skills are showcased in “Galaxy Quest”, such a good movie.

Ripley was very clever including Ash in her final log.  She's assuming she'll be found and if a Company rep hears her log and there is any mention of Ash being an android, her cryopod might have a sudden malfunction so she could never testify.

I always figure the alien is just chilling in the shuttle because it's realized that if the last human wants to be here, then it wants to be here. And now it can rest and relax with a couple of "snacks" for the road.

41:45 "Maybe my mind is in the gutter..." nah, yer on the right track. The ship they find is basically two legs outstretched, they enter at its' center, which is basically what you'd expect, a vaginal shaped orifice. And what does one find inside that? Eggs. The organic designed walls, the main ship's interface being referred to as "mother", none of it is coincidental. Even the creatures artist, Giger, has a lot of sexual motifs at play in their work. Wonderful watchalong with you on this one. Can't wait for you to keep going.

"It's got a great defense mechanism. You don't dare kill it."

Classic sci-fi horror. The tension is so thick, you will need a sharp steak knife in order to cut it.

The voice of "Mother" is so iconic, in my honest opinion. There's something unnerving about a cold feminine voice counting down to your death. It wasn't until GLaDOS that we rediscovered that a computerized female voice can be absolutely creepy.

Fun Fact: In H.R. Giger's original illustrations that inspired the look of the Alien, the creature had eyes. For the movie, Giger insisted that the creature have no eyes, thus giving the bleak appearance of a cold and emotionless beast that hunts by smell.

Real Guts Fact: The dead facehugger that Ash (Ian Holm) autopsies was made using fresh shellfish, four oysters, and a sheep kidney to re-create the internal organs. Filming had to be done quickly because the organic material would go bad very fast under the studio lights.

Bloody Solution Fact: It was conceptual artist Ron Cobb who came up with the idea that the Alien should bleed acid. This came about when Dan O'Bannon ran into a wall with the screenplay on how to handle the last half of the movie. He needed a good reason for why the crew members don't just shoot the thing and kill it but still not make it an indestructible monster that can't be killed. The acid blood was the idea that solved this problem.

I appreciate your mastery of the English language.  It enhances the experience of your shows. 😊❤

This is definitely in my list of top films of all time. I appreciate the unique, poetic nature of your commentary style.

Thumbs up for "ducts in a row".

Ghost Busters is one of her best movies!

The atmosphere in this movie is unmatched.   From the dark, dank ship to the shadowy spaces the Alien hides.  We feel trapped on the ship with the crew.

I think you’d enjoy The Abyss (1989).

"I had this ex girlfriend who ruined the Sixth Sense..."
Fair play on the breakup. 😜🤪

Lambert was played by the great character actress Veronica Cartwright.  She has been acting since she was 9 years old.  She had a major supporting role as a child in Hitchcock’s “The Birds.”  Her reaction to the chest burst scene was authentic, as she wasn’t aware of just how much fake blood there would be or how the effect would work.  If I was to recommend one movie of hers to watch, it would be “The Right Stuff,” which is an ensemble piece but she plays a pivotal role as one of the astronaut’s wives.

I'm never going to be able to watch this movie again without hearing "Jumpscare Jones" in my head when seeing the cat! LMAO  😹🙀

"Gorillas in the Mist" . "Working Girl" for Sigourney Weaver films.

Now for Aliens😊

I love your reaction and analysis of this movie. I also really love your vernacular and vocabulary. There is a 15 minute fan made animated short film called Alien: Monday which I highly recommend. The story and animation are of such a sufficiently high quality that you could easily be mistaken for thinking that it was an official part of the franchise.
