I played the first game of this series in 1996, Schleichfahrt :)

The first aquanox games's stories were really dark

I am sad that the whole game experience falls far behind the second part of the series. Sure it looks nice but I am still searching the depth in that game.... haha.... :(

I have been following this game since 2016 I think. Kinda forgotten about it but man, a lot has changed indeed.

Nice that you cover this Game! I want to like it more, but, and thats a personal but since by no means is this a bad game, the first titel in the series called Schleichfahrt (german for silent running) or Archimedean Dynasty in the US from 1996 is still way up my personal favourite games of all times. It had amazing world building, a great story and a good mix between action and simulation. The other titels in the series, Aquanox 1 and 2 pulled back on basicly everything to put the action at the forefront, so when Deep Descent was announced as going back to the roots i was really excited, but what we got is basicly Aquanox 3. Lots of action, not so much of anything else. Not bad, but also not what i had hoped for really.

Reminds me of Everspace, it even got similiar story sequences lol

Heavily armed subs. Those would have been helpful in Subnautia.

Reminds me of the game Subculture a little bit.

Nice

I like the look of the submarine combat, but the choice to use character cutouts and the linear quest structure makes it feel more like a decent Mobile game than a sequel to an older PC title. Like it could be fun if the story is decent, but I have a feeling it would get repetitive long before the story could really grab me.

Hi Shack, would you be interested in playing FreeSpace 2 with modern graphics etc via OpenSourceProject or Wing Commander Saga?

The best warhammer 40k game choice is Sanctus reach and dawn of war 1 especially with mods and ofcourse battlefleet Gothic armada 2 - highly recommend ! + warhammer fantasy battles - the old world trilogy ( shadow of hornet rat, dark omen and mark of chaos with battle march dlc) + call of warhammer mod what installed on total war medieval 2 and total war warhammer too !
