We traveled to Botijuela, a breathtakingly beautiful place at 4200 meters above sea level. There, you'll find natural hot springs at a delightfully pleasant temperature.
In this inhospitable place, more than 100 km from civilization, lives the hermit Simón Morales, a man who, I was told, welcomes you and opens his heart if he's in a good mood. Luckily, that happened to us. We visited his home in this natural paradise. He lacks nothing, only the essentials: food. Therefore, if you fell in love with this place and want to visit it again, it's important to bring him food when you go, because the tour guides don't mention it.
An important tip: if you live above sea level, it's crucial to dedicate the first two days to acclimatization. Always walk slowly because there's less oxygen at that altitude, and your body feels it. This way, you'll be able to enjoy these otherworldly places much more.
