After reaching a two year old Malinois in April I instantly realised this was going to be a huge challenge as he was very reactive. I knew very little about him and it was a huge gamble as well as a risk to my other dog a an 11 yr old female pug.
After watching absolutely everything you have done on YT I can now walk him on a slack lead with absolutely zero reactivity and also of the lead in open and safe places.
Seriously thank you so much 👍👍👍👍👍

Im going to teach my dog the switch sides next time I walk her. I usually just indicate a side and let her go around behind me but moving around in front is much better.

With vocal commands i always say "heel" first to get their attention, then its either "come here", "heel" again which means walk to heel, or "wait ...... follow" which means they can run. If its a feral, you cant stop them flipping so i give them tricks such as "prance", "spin" or "sing" so that theyre not getting told off all the time and keeps them focused. It also makes them return, for praise.

I started getting better when I watched you do this in a carpark.
You have helped me so much.

Fabulous advice, I've had my dog since 2020 and we're still working on this stuff, never ending.

I'm a dog groomer, so i get it. My dog ignores all dogs and ppl. But it took time, lol. Also, i ignore others' dogs. i look at it as I'm helping them train their dogs to ignore ppl, too, lol.

This is a great video. Very informative and I love that you film it all in real time so you show the practical application. If I may ask what treats are you using? I love that you are mass feeding him to reinforce your markers but I don't want to go overboard and use a much denser treat. Just curious. Keep up the great work friend. My Corso puppy will thank you.

After 18 months of training and folloiwng YCA, I still can't get my rescue GSD to be as close to other dogs as these are, although she has improved (her original threshold was about 200 m, now it's about 30 m!) And it's still world war III with the dog next door.

I love all of your advice and been following/ doing. Except the avoidance of triggers. Because I live in a flat and obviously my dog has to go out to relieve etc. it’s almost impossible to leave or enter the building without having close encounters with other flat dwellers or delivery people. I really don’t know how to handle this.
