A farmstead with a house, barn, and a hectare of land for the price of a used car. This still happens in Poland.
In Greater Poland or Kujawy, a hectare of good land can cost as much as a new car. And a few hundred kilometers away, the same amount of money buys an entire farmstead with a house, barn, and orchard. Here are 12 regions of Poland where farms and land are the cheapest—from the Lubusz Land to the Polesie Lubelskie region.
For each location, I honestly explain the reasons for this price: poor soil, drought, floodplains, the collapse of state-owned farms, patchwork fields, post-war displacement, proximity to the border, and the emigration of young people. And what do you get in return: a forest behind a fence, lakes, silence, a sky full of stars, and neighbors who still help with the hay.
Finally, four things you need to check before buying: the Act on Shaping the Agricultural System and the KOWR's pre-emptive right, development conditions, the land and mortgage register and land registry, as well as costs, taxes, and subsidies.
The prices in the video are examples from advertisements and the ranges in which such offers appear. The market is changing, so treat them as a guide, not a price list.
