Seth, Bill and Jon, I think I speak for a majority of viewers and listeners but these videos can never go too long. I can listen for hours because you guys have such knowledge and passion. These videos always feel half as long.

"People are going to eat this sh!t up" Seth Paridon. You called that one brother, this is both exhilarating and somber at the same time. Just a few moments to remember the crews who went down with those ships - top shelf history and archaeology here.

Yeah. You get some fabulous guests, but of all the ones you have, Jon Parshall is one of the most educated, intelligent, and entertaining. What a tour de force this episode was.

Outstanding! When you are asked how long it took to prepare for this episode you can say,, "all our lives".
The level of detail you present supports viewing many times - perhaps with independent study in between. Well done and thank you. (Bravo Zulu.)

These nighttime drops for us in Australia are awesome. Thanks Seth and Bill, Jon too, for all your hard work…..

Bill Roy was my wife’s grandfather and while I was aware of his service, I did not realize that the photos/still images from footage of the Yorktown I had seen in books over the years were from his work. I about fell over when Seth mentioned him so prominently and his children and grandchildren were thrilled to see this. I’m a longtime watcher of the channel and truly enjoy and appreciate Seth and Bill’s (and Jon’s) approach to thoroughly educating us about this part of history. Thank you for what you do!

I normally don't comment, but I loved the mix of this episode.
Jon always brings a full plate and I loved the use of his overlays to see exactly where the damage was done.
Bill adds insights I'd never thought of like "..judging from the bow wave, that destroyer is doing about 30 knots..."
Seth adds the human aspect and brings the mix together.
It's like 3 chefs making a feast.

Never tire of the topics and videos and I send them on to a friend who served in the navy. I a not ashamed to say that many of your videos have bought a tear to my eyes when I realize the extreme bravery that these servicemen showed. It should be taught in school but sadly overlooked and forgotten.

Passion as EM Hearst said. Your viewers recognize this every episode from the first til now. I can't for the life of me ever think any of you will ever loose it. Thanks again for a welcome addition to my Tuesday morning cups of coffee and oatmeal as I diligently listen and watch your presentation. I can't imagine just an audio version, especially today's video footage's. Looking forward to next week while on vacation in NC. Cheers to the 3 of you and hope you feel better Captain Bill!

Thanks for a compelling 2 hours of very interesting and ghostly images backed up by some great analysis and historical background. While the exact locations of the wrecks hasn't yet been reveled, I think that John's friend Tony makes a strong argument for the two 20mm gun mounts initially found did happen when that explosion took place. It would be informative if that location could be known. If so one could more closely approximate the position she was just after she was hit by the Dive Bombers. PS: Get well soon Bill and remember to hydrate when taking any pain meds, as they will certainly bind you up if you don't. :face-red-droopy-eyes:

I have now watch Jon go over these ships on both Drach and Unauthorized. Nerded out both times. Thanks for digging out the combat footage Seth.

Get well Capt. I hope you're halfway there! The New York Jets need you! - I wouldn't miss this if I had my shoulder operaterted on! either!

I think every subscriber agrees Seth with your Bill and Johns thoughts about every single combatant that was involved. Stood here , walked here, went there.

@Steve-dg3md 2 years ago

Nicely done.... we can see the knowledge and expertise pouring from all three of you. Bill shows his experience at sea when he estimated the speed of the destroyer by its bow wake.

I've said it before but sleep is overrated.

Seth's comment, "don't worry Jon, people will eat this sh#@ up" was a 100% true response when Jon apologized for talking to much. Fantastic episode , outstanding season, magnificent podcast/YouTube channel.

I think the general consensus in the comments regarding whether we "eat this shit up" is hell, yes. Just wow. A pleasure to share this with such epic nerds as yourselves. Such a shame that the Essex class Yorktown (CV10) is the oldest preserved carrier and not the Big E.
