I’m gonna build one to go on my 8 foot tank once it’s finished. The sump I’ve designed will hold 270l of k1 which is nice because my plan is to keep a pair of Rays and they produce so much waste
I always find a decent wavemaker works better with K1 As you say when using a lot of air you get the noise and temperature drop Using the wavemaker solves both issues
Biological filtration also includes the reduction of nitrate using anaerobic bacteria. A moving bed filter, on the other hand, works exclusively with aerobic filtration. I suspect you have a high nitrate level and therefore need to perform frequent and large water changes.
Nice tank u got there I have the same problem can’t get the k1 media to move with multiple airstones so they tell me to get a airpomp for the koi ponds around 1800l/h is it maybe better to buy a pump and make pvc with holes ? I am new to the moving bed maybe u have the answer by now
