I’d be interested to see how a fight like this would be received by the general public. Scott wasn’t no 3 strike felon, he killed someone. I don’t know if the public would be pissed off about the boxer being a killer or the multiple broadcasts they did on national television featuring him.

RIP Great James Scott

The Great Scott got schooled.

Scott did well against fighters he could intimidate like scared Eddie Gregory and looked good when devouring a soft little Bunny (Johnson), but when guys saw past the mystique they rolled Scott. Men like Martin and Braxton didn't play. Hell, half of this audience supported their alumni Braxton. No diss on Scott, who was a legit fighter and a tough guy, but he was at best a fringe contender with a story that sold.

I missed this fight because I was prepping to leave for college the next day. Thanks for posting this.

Their fighting inside a whole prison!

James Scott is definitely Newarks   own where we who knew him and his family members, we love him here in the Brick City. Rajah you are still OUR guy brother 👊🏿

It’s not a problem Marv, it’s a riot.

Black fighters are totally different from conventional fighters who have to learn how to box. Like dancing, it's all in the rhythm of the movement in and out, always moving with your partner.
It's all in the movement of the feet. Moving in out, avoid getting hit to much.

Dwight was a beast and a natural fighter.  He came up and won the championship when the light heavyweight division was full of talent.  His ability to dominate bigger fighters with his jab was remarkable.  Scott got some terrible advice from his corner in this fight.  To continue his tactics and not change to what always had worked for him speaks to a very inexperienced fighter and corner.

Good fight. Braxton won it. I dont think Scott was ever hurt in rhe fight. His moving away to much costed  him rhe fight. That was rhe end of James Scott on tv

What is on Marv’s head?

Scott made a serious miscalculation and his belief that he was a boxer was idiotic. Fact that he didn’t change his tactics after some rounds goes to show you that he was an amateur in every sense of the word. Yeah we’re gonna go to Yahweh state prison and watch you dance around when the only reason why people are tuned in b/c of his aggression and style prior to this fight.  What a blockhead!
