I have been to one of their locations in Cancun and we got what we paid for, but the experience had me nervous. After doing the online check-in prior to our arrival, online showed us getting a room in building 6. When I got there and checked in they gave us a room in building 8 (per my keycard), but they told the bellhop we were going to building 7. So, it was a surprise all the way up to the last moment. Building 8 ended up being the best building of the three options, so no complaints with the final product. Just a lot of my own jacked up nerves with it being my first time in the country and it was my wife's 40th and I didn't want any issues with the trip.

We are at EPC now and got the room we selected online! Now the resort is at very low capacity due to cancellations related to Tropical Storm Melissa but at least we got the room even if we don’t have much sunshine this week!

I have NEVER had a problem when choosing the room I wanted at this hotel. I've always gotten the one I paid for online. I've been here three times....

Most of our trips they will give the option to suggest a particular building or area of the resort you would like to stay in and we rarely ever get what we ask for even at places we have been to many times. It is free so we aren't shocked to not get what we requested. It sounds like what you are describing is more specific allowing you to pick the actual room. I agree with you. Why offer it if you're can't deliver it? Setting yourself up for a negative first impression and unhappy guests. Our upcoming trip to Planet Hollywood Costa Rica they allow you to pick a room but there is a fee and they actually show what rooms are going to be available at the time of our stay. Since we paid for it we better get it but strange things happen at all these resorts at times lol. Its so rare to get what you requested that I'm starting to think it might be better to request something you don't want and hope they will put you where you really want to be. Of course this would be the one time that they happily grant your request 😕

We booked Excellence Oyster Bay and received the room we selected beforehand

Hi love your reviews
In August, I was at Excellence Oyster Bay in Jamaica. We were with another couple and both of us received the rooms ❤we requested.
I’m going to Excellence Punta Cana n December and I’ll let you know what happens with my room selection
But so far so good with the room choices I made

We do club for the hydrotherapy and the true top shelf liquor options. EoB for example had Appleton 21, which retails $150 prr bottle in the US and $20 to $30 a pour at restaurants. Would be curious to know what the EPC Dominican pours are available with the club.

how does the room service cabinet work? it looks like it's still in the room so if you order room service and you're by the private pool and can't hear them do they just come in and put it in the cabinet? or is there an external door that they open to put your stuff in so they aren't coming in? I understand putting dishes in there because chances are you won't be in your room when they clean it. Like if you order breakfast to be delivered in the morning and you're still sleeping it would be cool to wake up and see the food in the cabinet ready to munch.

We had the first floor room @1:07 which we really enjoyed. We didn't pick our room before but it was indeed the suite style we selected at checkout. We are going again next year and we picked the sister room to the right. I think there are only 3-4 of these rooms on the property but I'll be curious if we get the exact room picked. I hope we do because it had very nice sun in the morning for room service breakfast and decent sun into the afternoon for hanging in and by our small pool.

Animals at the resort? Pretty sure I didn't see any animals lurkin' for leftovers when I was there last year. Headed back in 10 days...will keep an eye out.

So I just booked an Excellence Club Private Pool for Mar 2027. If I don't book a specific room, will I still get the EC Private Pool or can they move us to a Garden View etc.? Do you think booking an exact room will at least guarantee an EC Private Pool?

Hi, Thank you for all of your wonderful videos. I do not book a resort without watching. I have a question for anyone who can help. Where can I find interactive room views or does anyone know if the EC Master Suite has two bathrooms and if there are any on the 1st floor. I usually do swim out but I want more room on this trip? Thanks so much, I am booking and want to pick the correct room.

so we just booked and selected our room for my retirement and wife's birthday in January 2027 I have an email confirmation confirming that the room I selected is available and booked. Did this happen to you as well and when you arrived they said the room wasn't available? Thanks
