That was a great analysis of those types. As an ENTJ, I've always had moments where I shut out the world for a while, or simply enjoyed being alone and doing my own thing—so isolation isn't a reliable way to distinguish between them. You were spot on describing the difference between the Te-Ni and Ni-Te stacks—the unstoppable force versus the immovable wall. That said, it's not as if an ENTJ moves without a plan. ENTJs do make a blueprint; they plan up to about 80%. They simply rarely bother with the remaining 20%, because they know that perfecting something to that degree costs time and becomes inefficient. On top of that, they understand you have to leave room for improvisation—because situations change over time, and that space lets you adapt accordingly, often for the better.

I’m an INTJ. Omg, this video hit it perfectly. I can’t count how many times, I had to chase after my CTO, on his way to meetings, to prevent him from making a mistake. I literally had to grab printouts of 📈 data, to shove in front of him, as the meeting started. I felt like his babysitter.
My relationship with the ENTJ’s is a combination of fear, disgust, avoidance, admiration, respect and jealousy.

- Their impulsiveness stresses me out, so some of them, I try to avoid being around too much.
- I admire their drive and fearless nature.
- Some disgust me, when they are too self centered, acting before thinking of the consequences.
- I often respect their intelligence, and ability to act quickly.
- Sometimes I wish I could be more like them. I know I would probably be a lot more wealthier, if I was. Analysis paralysis cost me plenty of opportunities.

Btw: Steve Jobs, was the stereotypical ENTJ.

You are exceptional. I only just began study of Meyers-Briggs. First dive into your vids, a Grand slam out of the park home run, last batter of the game. Now, I play again, and it’s a triple on the first inning. Sweet. Maybe eventually get to know you.

This seems like its talking about less mature types than mature ones that can function, when needed, more as the other type because within their own reasoning structure they've found use cases for it. The failing business example for instance a mature INTJ will work easily within the constraint of cost to income must be X by Y. They will compartmentalize a smaller model perhaps for each department or department interaction and create an ordinal list then they can act. Likely faster and more accurately than the ENTJ who will suffer through mistakes in that time. Likewise a mature ENTJ will know that mistakes under this situation would be dire and would slow down external action and run it by others in smaller settings to make sure.

Nope. I will stop the bleeding by Thur but only make absolutely necessary changes, some reversable (sometimes making mistakes out loud is deplorable), and I'll buy us 90 days. I'll have the real reason and the longterm plan by Saturday evening. And we'll only need 30 of my extra days to save the company. By the Sun I have built my team AND already pulled perspective and input from them to help with that genius plan ( been team building all week of course). Its clear where the INTJ failed. What noone tells you is where the ENTJ failed. The half assed seat of the pants plan fails before the extra 60 days are through largely because of the drastic poorly considered changes. I am an introvert. I am smart. I can work and think independantly in isolation, or in a team. I trot out the cognitive processes depending on what is required to reach the best result. I can walk and chew gum at the same time. The secretive one and the arrogant one are exactly as you describe them - know it all attention seaking aholes. And if there is someone around to pull off their masks - should that be required in order to reach a sane successful end - guess who will successfully do that too (taking care of that bs is where I lost my day)
