so.. Disturbed completely reinvents The Sound Of Silence, and I love it! This was not my first time hearing this song, but seeing it done live in this context still gave me chills. Disturbed singers voice is unique and as you will see, for some reason, even when he breaks the rules, he doesn't lose my attention or respect! What an amazing performance! lets watch this together shall we.

I'm 74 and I truly love this version of one of my all time favourite songs.

I honestly feel like this version by Disturbed is one of the best songs ever recorded 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

his vocal is not a joke, I always liked Disturbed but this cover made me speechless...

He comes from generations of Cantors. In respect of of his family heritage he does not have tattoos. He also removes all piercings when he goes home to see his grandfather. From what I understand, all the men in the group are very stand up and honorable men. No drugs, etc

Not many covers are better than the original....
This is one of them!

His training has been extensive... Love Desturbed... Love David ....
Am 81 yr old grandma... love all their music... but this one moves me the most. He was really sick the night he performed and the band would only let him perform if he would sit down... so that's why he's sitting but even sick WOW

I love watching people discover this song! My favorite part of every single one is when the reactor stops commenting and just stares ooen mouthed at their screen 😊😊

Something to keep in mind, when performing this on Conan, he was very sick.

@KarlwithaK2 3 years ago

He was sick that night, but his voice still wrapped around you in the beginning with a warmth and then he hits notes that makes you rise up from your chest!

@patrickebfg280 3 years ago

Down with the Sickness is their most popular song and has a lot of fast transitions between the grit/vocal fry and clean singing that you mentioned.

It says something when Paul Simon is very impressed and enjoys their version.

After David draimen's classical training as a cantor, he trained with a woman to perfect his vocal fry without hurting his voice. This cover is a master class, take a look at the original video as well, very impactful. He just got out of the hospital the day befor with a serious flu, which makes this performance even more astonishing.

David Driman is a trained Cantor. His voice is no joke. Incidently, David had a bad case of the flu during this performance.

He is a classically trained singer from an early age. The guy is just amazing.

The fact that he had a cold the night he performed this and it STILL sounded amazing says A LOT about just how talented he is. I never would've known he had a cold.
