I knew of Downton abbey on tv but had never watched it until one day I turned on my tv and Downton was on and i sat and watched the last 20 minutes of an episode and i was hooked! I had no idea who was who or what was going on until i watched the very 1st episode on Sky and followed it from there, for me I am one who is very drawn to the Victorian era and Downtown was right up my street

I’m so happy DOWNTON is coming back on itv3 on the 7th September the full series I will watch it every episode every day👍👍👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️

LOVED this series on TV & have loved the the three movies also. I've been a huge fan from the very beginning.

been watching Downton since its inception, i think I've run through the whole series over 5 times. I hope to see everyone again in 10years maybe something with George being in his 20's then. Being in the 40's and early 50's would be marvelous. and of course a prequel with Cora and Robert is a must or Violet.. long live the Crawleys and the Bates

With the Final scene of The Last "Downton Abbey" film, one really does get the inestimably
sad feeling, that It IS Really, the end.... With the departure of Robert and Cora to downsize at "The Dower House", with Edith moving to Bertie's Inherited estate with Marigold, Tom set to marry Lucy and take on her new estate of "Brampton Hall" , Lady Mary and her son George will be left alone, apart from probably a reduced staff, rattling around the huge house, like TWO PEAS in  A CULLENDER...!!  CARSON AND MRS. HUGHES, WILL HAVE GONE, SO WILL MRS. PATMORE.... HARDLY ANYONE LEFT NOW...!!

I saw Gosford Park many years ago and I loved Maggie and wonndered if someone would build a tv series around her character. Then came downton...i watched it mainly to see what maggie would say next. Her witty quips were so well excecuted.and her acting, legendary as ever, kept me coming back for more.

Great idea, not-so-great writers. Great costumes and expensive production, but flaws were there. In England at that time, where prejudice towards Jews was enormous, the idea of an English man marrying a Jewish American solely for her wealth feels very cheesy and resembles a Mexican soap. Seasons 4, 5, and 6 became such a boring soap opera. I think Hugh Bonneville is such a good actor, but the story should have made his character more controversial. I don't grasp why the writers killed the romance of the lord and the maid, which was a very eye-catching part of the series. If I were writing the story, I would make the Hugh character much more controversial. If I were writing the story, I would make the same-sex element more profound and a central part of the narrative. The character Mr. Borrow, despite being played by a skilled actor, was denied the opportunity to display any profound emotions as a same-sex lover. The script failed to explore the character's romantic feelings, perhaps reflecting an underlying prejudice against same-sex romance. By the end, Lady Mary became annoying and rather uninteresting. My favorite performances in Downton Abbey are Brendan Coyle as Mr. Bates, Allen Leech as Tom Branson (the Irish revolutionary), and Siobhan Finneran as Ms. O'Brien in the first three seasons. I also think Daisy Lewis, who played the schoolmistress Sarah Bunting, should have stayed longer. She was a fascinating character who really challenged Lord Grantham's old-fashioned worldview. The annoying actress is the one who plays the mother of the lord of the manor, who was very hypocritical, defending the aristocracy but letting her son marry a Jewish woman because of her wealth. The marriage between the Scottish man's daughter and a Jewish man felt cheesy, especially given the historical society's deep prejudice against Jewish people. A continuation featuring older versions of these characters would be great, provided it avoids soap opera tropes. I wish I could give it 5 stars, but because the last 3 seasons became cheesy and soap-like, I will give it, in my view, 3 stars.

For the PeopleMover, they could make the tracks “hug” the buildings like the WDW version does. That way, there would still be open spaces while retaining a nostalgic feeling
