What do you think Meet the Spy could have looked like?? I rlly wanna know haha! Also make sure to check out Honkai impact 3rd! https://hoyo.link/6fbgFEAL ! Great game and i am so pumped theyre directly supporting and making the big upcoming projects a reality!! Also if theres anything specific you wanna see for meet the sniper lemme know hehe.. EITHER WAY HUGE THANKS FOR WATCHING, THIS HAS BEEN A BIG PASSION PROJECT FOR MYSELF AND MY FRIENDS, DONT FORGET TO CHECK OUT ALTRANADE AND POLYBROW!!! And also thanks to the legend that is Dennis Bateman!

Spy has been lowkey the team captain and often likes to take charge so this monologue of him hyping up the team kinda makes sense.

"Your indivual strengths, Speed, Accuracy, Brawn, Brain, Rage, Flame retardancy" Last one is my favorite strength spy said.

I'll remind you all that in Expiration Date, Spy first gathered the team together so they could all have their last wishes granted, and then helped Scout ask out Pauling even though Scout was being a jackass to him the entire short. Too many people forget about this kind side of Spy.

I’m so happy to have worked with you Shork to bring this to life! It’s the most fun I’ve had working on a project in a long while!

Ngl, but that spy's monologue hits hard, I started to see a spy as a actual team leader

Gentlemen I see, I’ve been re-created

I think during the Spy’s speech, they could’ve cut to Spy killing each class, showing how a good Spy knows how to exploit each class.
Scout’s cockiness
Sniper’s tunnel vision
And the general “kill the enemy while they’re distracted” for the rest.

After all these years, we finally got Meet the Spy 2 and it’s as glorious as I expected it for this literal lost media in TF2!

The reason that the Spy didn't end up having this "leader" spirit is in my opinion the fact that he isnt there to make money or be the leader.
He is there to protect his son, Scout.
And so he does what is needed to protect him, or just... keep an eye out on him in his mean, tough-love way.
That is the reason they changed it...
I think.

His speech would be fitting in an episode of the show that never was, or in a feature length film perhaps. Beautiful work from all of you.

Out of topic here, but if Valve did make the adultswim show i would literally rewatch it thousands of times

I like to think that happened before Meet The Spy; like how the Medic outtakes happened before Meet The Medic

Alternatively: What if, the cinematic started with a clip of the blue team being massacred, then cuts to the speech in the blue base, where the blue spy is rallying the team after their defeat, with cross-cuts of him using his abilities during the battle shown at the start. Then, the blue team gets ready and heads out, running right into an ambush, and right as their medic is about to uber, sniper is about to headshot the Red medic, or some other game changing event, the blue spy, who was actually the red spy, backstabs them, leading the blue team to be slaughtered. The camera then pans out to reveal the dead blue team and how the 'blue' spy sabotaged them during the ambush he rallied them into, eventually showing the blue spy dead, his body hidden somewhere by the red spy, who took on his identity. It shows the abilities from either perspective and the power of spy in team battles, with the classic twist at the end.
Nonetheless, the one you fellows made was absolutely fantastic:)

If not the actual version the meme "Your mother!" would not be existing every small thing can make a big difference in world
This game is a Timeless masterpiece and this is just one of MANY proofs of this

Did anybody else notice how one of Spy's lines was referencing Shakespeare's "Henry the Fifth", when its namesake gave a motivational speech to his soldiers?

"We bold few, we unnatural brothers."

Meet the Spy is my favorite TF2 short of all time! Its so interesting to go back and see what could’ve been.

Spy saying 'bitch' makes me happy for some reason I can't explain. I really love Spy's character, through the comics and through the Meet The videos and Expiration Date. I love this game so much 😭

I think this short could’ve worked a lot better simply by changing the ending. Instead of spy just finishing his speech the rest of the team gets pumped and runs out of the room ready to fight, meanwhile spy stays behind and starts laughing as he changes color to blu, it would then cut to the rest of the red team running out to fight while the announcer says that the intelligence has been taken then scout says like “ah come on” or something cutting to the tf2 logo.

I feel like the red and blu mercs have different personalities, explaining how red spy is the leader and cares about the team, while blu spy is just forced to take the role
