Dude I never thought about how them being scientists and researchers in The Things makes it even scarier. You’re right, most scary movies have dumbasses for protagonists, but in The Thing they’re all using scientific reasoning to sus out the alien and they still can’t figure that shit out

The child death in Hereditary is one of the only movie scenes that makes me gasp every time without fail. Not only is it unexpected, as kids usually have the heftiest plot armor imaginable, but its the build up and adrenaline rush only for it to flat line so quick. Hereditary is an awesome film that doesnt get talked about enough.

The actor who player peter in hereditary is a method actor and actually had to go to therapy after filming the movie due to him being so depressed and having stress disorders. Also when he bangs his head on the desk the blood is real and he acually go hurt doing that. Bro was locked it.

I saw John Carpenter's The Thing for the first time when I was in 6th grade. That fuckin dog kennel scene traumatized me. After a few rewatches, I can fully appreciate the greatness of the masterpiece

This is why I think horror movies should be grounded to just human-level threats instead of demons, dolls, or stuff like that because it makes it more realistic and just all around more scarier cause your ass better know people exist that act like them

Step 1. Don’t solve the puzzle
Step 2. Put the puzzle in a small safe.
Step 3. Dig a 60ft hole
Step 4. Dump the safe in the hole.
Step 5. Bury it.
