Blundell stood up to the stumps before Carey. He did in the series in NZ !

These guys went from time running out for Gill to this lol

If you consider significant innings, Markram should partner Head at the top. 🤷‍♂️

23:15 One point is that since you're considering the time period from 2024 then that is Bumrah's peak not 4-5 years ago

Why do we want Head opening? He's only succeeded against a bad England attack. Any batter could succeed in that position. I'd go Latham and Rahul

Benedict back in the first team after working his way back from the bomb squad, tears in my eyes. Getting my Gardner shirt back out the wardrobe.

Ben come back to the weekly, we miss the best looking guy in cricket

I understand their choices but when it comes to test cricket i think its criminal how much people overlook Jayden Seales. Then man has a career strike rate of 46 and is only behind Rabada and Bhumrah in terms of current players. In terms of test bowlers of all time with over 100 wickets in tests his strike rate puts at number 6.

Interesting that the current Aussie XI playjng SA are all over 30!

Head, Markram, Gill, Smith, Brook, Carey, Greaves, Jansen, Starc, Henry, Maharaj. It really depends on the pitch this world XI plays on, could be Santner for the spinning allrounder. Unfortunately Stokes ineligible but probs still deserves a spot

I haven’t looked at any numbers but I don’t think head scored any runs opening except against England so i wouldn’t have him in my team and it’s criminal not to have jansen in your team so I would have replaced him with Starc they’re both tall left arm swing bowlers with a similar skill set only jansen is better both with the bat and the ball. Also I would replace Jadeja with maharaj probably I am guessing he has been the best spinner of this time period. You just can’t have one spinner in your team who’s not even been bowling well recently. There’s Washington and Kuldeep as options too but I think they might not have played enough especially Kuldeep so I picked maharaj

Not even a cursory glance at wicket keeper’s stats and a dissection of their batting record says it all. Based on your own logic, I would play Brook and bat him in the WK slot and just pick the best back stop out of the batters to wear the gloves.  The value of the glove man and what he can bring to the team outside of batting is lost on you

Why Travis head as an opener?? That man can be replaced as an opener soon come to 5.. one good ashes at home. He has one overseas ton as an opener

75 wickets at 17 average for Bumrah since September 2024
And he wasn’t picked by the guy in glasses  crazy

Ben back on with Phillip 😂 my faves

Travis Head
Yashasvi Jaiswal
Steve Smith
Joe Root
Harry Brook
Ravindra Jadeja
Alex Carey
Mitchell Starc
Simon Harmer
Matt Henry
Jasprit Bumrah

No Marco Jansen are you guys nuts!!

Jadeja is one I'd quibble with. His bowling is just not as effective these days and not as accurate either.

Kl , head, smith,gill,brook,pant, Jadeja,pat, bumrah,starc,jansen

Smith has not played well in the last 2 years - Root and Brook
