Funny that they started this sound in the late 80s.

Patton is easily an underrated musical genius imo

"I'm Easy" is a cover of a Commodores ( Lionel Richie ) song. They did it in response to fans asking them to do their cover of Black Sabbaths  " War Pigs". They're very contrarian that way, doing the opposite of what people expect. FNM are all very talented musicians in their own right.

You need to hear the whole album "Angel Dust"

FNM could have put out an album entirely of polka tunes and nobody would have thought it strange.

When Nu Metal blew up in the mainstream 5 - 10 years later, and many of them claiming to be inspired by Faith no More and Mr Bungle, Mike Patton's response was "Please don't blame me for this shit"

I totally feel him there. Bungle and FnM were all about free spirited don't give a  shit about genre rules, bending conventions, doing exactly what they want despite being on a corporate label. Nu Metal by contrast was a carefully constructed genre for mass crossover appeal. A gimmick imho.

Mike Patton is the smoothest MF in the world

Mike Patton's nick name is "The man of 1000 voices".
He is involved in a enormous number of projects and bands.
He can sing anything.

Mike is just that sweet combination I love the most of being totally totally unserious and absolutely deadly serious at the exact same time.

I may be corrected by those more knowledgable, but I think on the "Go ahead and wring my neck..." sections, he is singing on the inhale.  This came out mid 90s.

Mike Patton was doing vocal swaps that most bands can't do with 2 vocalists

Lionel Ritchie cover throws so many off

They are original and the best rock/alternative band for the last 35 years..Once Faith No More arrived rock music hit its peak. The only band to survive before , through and after the Grunge era...Yep, they were that good!

Watch their video to „I’m easy” and you will see their sense of humour even better. Great band, not even one bad song really

Mike Patton might be the coolest human to ever walk the earth. On top of that, I think he's generally regarded as the most talented rock vocalist to ever live.

Check out his album Mondo Cane for some kickin' 1950s - 60s Italian covers (dude's fluent) that feature a 40 piece orchestra & 15 piece backing band. Or Fantomas Director's Cut cover of 'Investigation of a Citizen Above Suspicion' if you're in the mood for a fun twist on a classic movie score.

Saw them opening for Guns N' Roses 1992 in Germany.Since then i'm a big Fan of them

Patton was one of the pioneers of troll culture in music, for sure.

Jim Martin is my homeboy

Oh Mike that neck 😂😂😍❤
