Aegon didnt create the Kingsguard he was actually against it at first because he thought his normal guards are enough. It was Visenyas idea. She cut his face with Dark sister infront of his guards and told him they are too slow and too unfocused. After that the Kingsguard was invented.

10:13 Aérea Targaryen flew Balerion to the ruins of Valyria not Sothoryos btw.

It was Jaenara Belaerys (an old Valyrian dragon rider) who explored the continent of Sothoryos on her dragon Terrax.
When she returned she claimed the continent was an endless land of jungles, deserts and mountains.

It's Funny how How no Targaeryan named their heir after Jaehaerys after his death maybe the realm would have been better     off for it 😂

Bloodraven the most interesting characters by far

Thank you for explaining the history of the Targaryens.  At the end, the last Targaryens were all descendants of Prince Daemon and his niece wife, Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen.  They had two sons who were kings and three grandsons who were kings and finally Daenyra Targaryen who was determined to get the Iron Throne back. That ended the "Game of Thrones".

I would think the Daeron would have the most legitimacy being that both his parents are Targaryens and not just the one (Aegon IV).

Aegon "master of diplomacy" - Balerion

Unpopular opinion id love a series of Jarhaerys the conciliator reign . Maybe an animated version

27:00 ...that wasn't Matarys, that was Ser Manfred Dondarrion.

King Jaehaerys ii. Who's that? HBO probably.

i know this is unrelated to the show and this uses hotd, but damn i wanted an ending where danny and aegon vi / jon rule westeros and actually make it a better place

Incredibly complicated and huge Lore surrounding these silverhaired Targaryens! my number one favorite House of the thousand houses in westeros

Wheres Horace the 1st???

Jim Cantore?😂😂

26:40 you got to respect the North for staying the fuck away from southern politics 😂

Was Aegon the 3rd in the show?

I believe, in the books, Daenerys will reclaim the throne and the Targaryen rule again

I'm still listening, so maybe you switch it up later. If so, good.
I'm 4:20 in, and you're so wrong about Aenys. Where did you get this from?
In Fire and Blood, Aenys's regression is likely due to his mother warging him. Or her Shade comes to him in his dreams. As far as physically,  he was comely, strong, he wasn't King's Guard material,  but he was good with a sword.
It wouldn't matter who came after Aegon the Conquerer died. It was ALWAYS going to happen. It was never going to end well. If someone landed here and just took over the whole landmass, we'd be fkn pissed off, too.
They truly feared Aegon. It's all these Unspoken Words that tell us Aegon was seriously fkd up guy. Rhaena was deeply unhappy. She didn't want him back. And fkn Maegor. Just wtf. Aenys though, his evil was a different kind. The evil of looking the other way. The evil of allowance.
Listen closely to the specific phrasing GRRM is using here. He's writing about sexual abuse. Aegon doted on Rhaenys as if she were his own. He wept when he held her. Aenys wasn't her father. Aegon was. Listen again as Rhaenys is described as doting on Alysanne as if she were her own daughter. Because she was her daughter. Think about it. Maegor wanted her since she was little. Maegor,  the Funny Uncle. He HATED puppies and kitrens...while Rhaenys LOVES the Castle Cats and slept with puppies in her bed. She slept with puppies to keep Maegor OUT. She didn't have friends, because she knew they would be fkd with too. And they were. The Valaryon princess who is her bedmate is suddenly sent back to Driftmark and married off to a 2nd son of Tarth. Huh. Because she was pregnant. Who do you think by? Maegor. And they kept it a Family Secret instead of doing something about it. And that Secret grew into a Monster.

I prefer King Spooks the First

Muahahaha Rhaenyra ended up winning in the end
