1970年麗的映聲有一個名叫「平步青雲」的天才表演節目,性質與「聲寶之夜」接近,但並無廣告商贊助,當年仍是黑白有線時代.主持人正是高亮和黎愛蓮,當晚我和另一個小女孩同時參賽,那個小女孩叫梁之絜,她帶了她的爸爸一起來,因為每個參加者都要帶一個提名人,原來她的爸爸是著名粵樂家梁以忠,節目未開始前,黎愛蓮就在化粧間自己化粧自己燙衫,又與參加者聊天,給予人非常親切有禮,五十多年後仍記憶猶新.

黎愛蓮已離苦得樂,放開懷抱,自由自在,海濶天空任鳥飛🪷🙏

I remember Irene Ryder .She was a graceful Euroasian lady and great singer. I knew about her story in the past and her fortitude was absolutely respectable . Sadly , she passed away for a couple of years already , but  her friendly smile and wonderful voice will be well missed by us as always .
