the side tripod socket is a great feature, as the 6x9 format doesn't have much rise, in 'normal' orientation, so this socket switches the rise, to the shift axis, which gives you more latitude for this movement.

Such an elegant way to shoot medium format. From the best photography YouTuber, of all time.

Fabulous camera. Imagine having a digital 6x9 back for it.

I just purchased one of these beautiful cameras, so I'm truly grateful to see this video. What a resource. Thank you for sharing your gear and your experience with these cameras!

That is so impressive and much more affordable to use than 4x5. That so makes me think of getting the old 4x5 and roll film back out some day (been digital for many years with smaller cameras without tilt/shift equipment).

Thank you for showing us your fine camera! I would imagine you could use one of the sheet film backs to do collodion photos.

what a great introduction to what looks to be an amazing camera!
Thanks for taking the time to share.

Great presentation! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and passion! In an era of youtube "influencers" and endless fads, it's refreshing to stumble upon no-nonsense, honest and down-to-earth photography channels. Subscribed!

The timing of this video is perfect, I'm ordering one in 3 weeks, when I return home to Canada from Mexico. I'm subbing for more videos.

Great content, love how informative you make these videos as well as your focus on such unique and impressive gear.

Thank you very much for making this video. This camera is such a surprise and a discovery. I didn't know that such a system existed. Very much appreciated.

Excellent video! I have a Horseman 980 that I really enjoy using. I have found it to be a very versatile camera for everything from landscape to macro. Even after I acquired a 4X5 I still keep using the 980 often, especially on walks where I want to keep gear to a minimum.

Mr. Massey;
Great video, Thank You for sharing.

Hi Richard
Your video really struck a chord with me. After lots of looking around, everything from the Ysolette to the Texas Leica, you talked about enjoying composing on the ground glass. Learning by studying and close observation rang so true. I plan to get a VH in a couple of months. Then I can start up the learning curve and enjoy the view as I go.

Thanks for your guidance.
Stay well

Wonderful overview.  I was looking for something like this where I didn’t need to step up to 4x5.  Looks impressive!

Loved this vid.....Awesome camera..... I am now looking into purchasing one 🙂

Magic

New sub here, you got my attention my friend!! I’m looking into finding one now.  But my question I’m trying to answer is a Horseman 6x9 or a Mamiya RB67. I have my Hasselblad 500 and my Mamiya 645, plus multiple TLR’s, but this Horseman at 6x9 has me so interested in getting on instead of the Mamiya RB67 I was planning to get. And oh man, that reflex finder you have for it!?!?!!!  I’d need that!!

This is excellent description of the camera. I have one and Richard should get a commission from Japanese camera shops   lol.   I purchased the viewfinder after watching this.  Now it’s time to find a camera mount for Sony digital.
