It’s pronounced as cane (canay) which means dog in Italian and corso means guarding.
Cane corso: guarding dog

Cane (pronounced Canay) Corso are intimidating dogs that can be a great guard and protection dogs for Pakistanis in view of the security situation. They can act as a deterrence against robbers and burglars. Hats off to Yousuf for keeping these dogs. Btw, we live in Canada and we love dogs. We have a Hungarian Kuvasz as guard and companion dog. When we were in Pakistan, we had German Shepherds and Dobermans.

I had 5 such Cane Corso in Mauritius in year 2000 when breed was not well known and from Italy and france . I have had such breed as GSD for mamy years, Rottweilers, Great Dane and Amstaff but the Cane is a dog that can be as sweet as a labrador and can be more dangerous than a rottweiler depending on situation.
