Off The Left Eye

Does it matter how we lay someone’s body to rest after death? Swedenborg witnessed that a person's spirit is safe and well after death no matter how their former body ends up. When I finally found that I’m not a body there I felt freedom

I heard in one NDE story that there are 3 primary colors here but there are 97 primary colors in the afrter life. What a beautiful place it's going to be. ❤

I tend to see things backwards, at times.
No wonder I feel like I'm 21 (10-20 yrs ago, I felt 17) -- I'm 74 on earth... my mom is 95.

When I ask her how she's feeling, -- she's an EXTREMELY private person -- she speaks only of her 95 yo body. I think she doesn't want to tell us she FEELS 11.

Next time, I'll ask her what she thought about lately ...

I think I know why old people sleep a lot. When asleep, I'm FREE of the vertigo, aches & pains, of my old human body.

When asleep, with the exception of the awful, real nightmare I had 3 days ago -- I'm FREE from the ills of my aged "garments".

My understanding of the relationship between the natural body and the spirit comes from an analogy that I read years ago. The author said that it is like a hand and a kid glove. The hand is our spirit and the kid glove is our physical body. It is the hand that gives shape, form and movement to the glove. Yet only a fool would say that it is the glove that steers the car.
So my physical form is really my spiritual form. And when I awaken into the spiritual world, I will look exactly as I do now. However in that world, instead of getting older, my physical appearance will start growing younger. And I will spend an eternity appearing as I did in my youth.

Wonderful, enlightening conversation!
I tell my loved-ones that our eartly lives are foundations for the house we'll live in on the other side.

15:23 "Conditions are much clearer and brighter for us after death than before... When we die, we pass from comparative SHADOW into Light..." This reminds me of Plato's "Allegory of the Cave."

@Chinonye-sj5it1mt5w 7 days ago

Amen to all of that! I love the analogy of the body as tool for living in this world, the spirit is what lives on, the real us. Thank you so very much for this Awesome teachings!! Love you all!❤:_curtis:😚:_jsr:❤:_sflogo:❤:_logo:❤

The analogy of the sand table and sound waves is great! The body is a tool; the spirit is the living force. We are building our afterlife by what we do and why we do it here - by the spirit and not the body. Thank you for that explanation.

So much fear over nothing. Don't worry about it, when you're dead it's over Enjoy your life it's precious because it's limited.

@yahiawaleed828 8 days ago (edited)

The idea of death for me is that it isn't something that's just confined to oneself. If anything ends and death is the great equalizer then maybe it should literally be so, not eventually but always, immediately and limitlessly. The lack of relevance for any concepts, causality, form and memory is also what could be considered death too, it is just the notion of death that people typically ignore because it probably an unexpected way for someone to think about death, others may think of the notion of continuity and the necessity of any existence, even if it is mere matter, as something that's somehow an axiom they could do nothing about except keep believing in. The idea of a world beginning anew or continuing or occurring differently would probably be what keeps things going.

I love this topic. About life after death... Can we remember our family we had? see or feel them? we all wish we could had some sort of connection becous why should we be able to love so deeply our kids,parents,siblings etc for the reasons only to be alive on earth such a short time? i guess that is a big big question but did swedenborg mention it?
