TheDezembro

Upper Echelon Games made a video criticising the discourse around AC Shadows, disregarding an entire group of critics without backing up any of his claims and lying about others. This video goes through that.

He became a snob and even threw in a condescending "I grew up" statement as his reason for accepting woke trash in video games. Maturity has nothing to do with accepting a radical agenda pushed into entertainment. It's more like he's regressed.

@SquigglyTheAsianPotato 1 year ago

Love how he just brushes off the whole romance thing like... bruh... nobunaga's sister isn't just some "romance" she's prob one of the most influential woman in japanese history and her descendants are still alive, one of the things she was known for was her loyalty to her husband and here they have her just casually cheating on him

Upper Echelon slowly went from pointing out corpo scummy business to bootlicking them, ironic, he became the thing he stood up against

"you can ignore half the game, so why are people judging the game by that half? just enjoy the other half instead!"

Wasn‘t there a Femenist in Red Dead Redemtion 2 that you could OPTIONALLY feed to an Alligator? Wonder why Journalists got upset about that…

11:07 God, I hate the "choices" argument. It's right there with "why are you so mad, bruh, it's just a video game, bruh"
It's because that choice shouldn't exist in that setting. It's like adding an assault rifle to a medieval fantasy game. Not as a cheat or an easter egg, but as is. "Why you so mad, the game doesn't FORCE you to use the assault rifle, it's a choice, bruh, why would you be against more choices bruh?"

Upper Echelon and The Act Man together would make a great Shill Team 6.

@Pers0n97 1 year ago

3:30 Ah yes.
Shadows is clearly not the failure that we claim.
So much so that Ubisoft had to sell out to Tencent.

The cringe is unreal.

@FuzzyWuzzySnuzzy 1 year ago

Upper Echelon was lying about canon mode removing gay stuff, since Ubisoft made it canon that the chick was a lesbian.

@GordonHammer 1 year ago

Please note that Upper Echelon is the same guy who said that Dragon Age: The Veilguard was a financial success and anyone who said it wasn't was a lying idiot.

@red-merlin 1 year ago

20:54 i believe canon mode sets nobunagas sister as default romance for the story. Which is worse ultimately

I think UE is one clear case of one youtuber who had a fair take on most things but for political reasons now It can never concede a win to 'the chuds'

@zacboyles1396 1 year ago

I appreciate that you made it through his slop AND managed to record a video on it. The guy desperately wants to be seen as impartial and above everything, he fails at both while his ego inflates as if to physically lift him above the issues thus ultimately delivering a flatulence sniffing, indignant, holier than thou, opinion on the topic.

@19Crusader91 1 year ago

I have said it there, i will say it here.
Ignoring yasuke and thus ignoring the problems is a horrible take. Bad things being in the game is bad, because resources were spent of making the shit thing. Imagine not having the bad shit, and the resources could have been used to make the rest better instead.

i unsubscribed from that loser a few months ago when he made a post ranting about something and telling us he's better than us or doesnt care what we think and was just acting like a psycho, talking down to his subs. i was like, nope, i aint dealing with this weirdo, so i unsubbed

@lilbladeknight 1 year ago

expect there to be a mod on nexus mod to turn Yasuke japanese and then the nexusmods group will ban it for being "racist" lmao

@MjollTheLioness-o4y 1 year ago

The people defending it by being disingenuous know what they are doing. They're just trying to gaslight people into believing that they're overreacting, hoping they will quiet down and stop criticising forced ideologies. It's like when they ask, "Why does it matter if they change it?" to which the best response is, "If it doesn't matter that much, then why change it to begin with?"

As for the "It's just a video game" or "It's fantasy" yeah, but if Jedis fought the Sith in a new SW game with machetes and AR15s instead of lightsabers, it wouldn't make sense. It would be immersion-breaking because it contradicts the world and the lore. Even fantasy needs limits and boundaries in established world settings and time periods.

Either way, no amount of gaslighting or disingenuous attempts to defend forced ideologies will make gamers buy a game they don't want to play or find appealing. If studios want to stay in business, they need to listen to people who actually play games instead of Twitter activists who only care about modern-day social issues.

UE does research and some people say that he actually doesn’t, “he’s ignorant”. I believe UE is maliciously leaving out information he doesn’t like and doesn’t fit the narrative he wants, a narrative which makes him seem like an enlightened centrist
