as a drummer i can't stress how amazing it was when rick allen lost his arm in that car accident and relearned completely how to play the drums again with one less limb than any other drummer out there and still be better than most of them lol he's a legend! and the band deciding NOT to replace him but instead wait for him to figure it out and then start rocking again once he was ready. that's loyalty you don't find now days

Gen-X here. I could watch these reaction videos all day! I love watching young people discover “our” music. ❤

LOL..  500 people dumbstruck that you didn't notice The Thunder God playing drums with one arm.  LOL

This was an anthem back in the 80s

These bands weren’t niche in the 80s we weren’t outcast. This was everywhere!

And I shit you not, Joe Elliot still sings exactly like that today! No lip syncing and dude still hits those notes!

Blown away that after that still frame with Rick sitting there. Not a single word of his incredible ability to play high quality drums with only one arm. It’s as if he wasn’t really watching

This song came out and strip joints were never the same.

I don't think it can be stressed enough how HUGE this song, the album and the group was. They were mainstream. Absolute legends. (and yes, you missed the one arm drummer)

The story around the drummer losing his arm and the band will always make me think this is what true loyalty to a friend in need, above all else, looks like. I highly recommend reading or watching a video about it. It is a true inspiration from every angle.

OK LOL, even after the pause on Rick drumming with one arm still nothing, most people dont even realize he is doing this with one arm. He lost his arm in a horrific car accident and Def Leppard waited for him so he could stay with the band, his drum set is electric and he plays with his feet to make up for the lost arm. Rick Allen is a testament to the craft.

I took my daughter to see these guys for her 14th birthday. A lightning strike took out  the electricity. They didn’t miss a beat. The singer just yelled out “you are gonna have to be quiet”. And they jumped to acoustic till the power came back on. DID NOT MISS A LICK.  Pure professionalism. For the life of me I can’t remember the actual song.

Dude, Def Leppard is hard. Did you not notice the one-armed drummer? He was in an accident in England, and the band still kept him as their drummer. This band is EPIC!!!

Fun fact: I was at the filming of this video. 1988 in Denver. They played 2 nights. I was 14. One of my favorite memories.

The album this is from, Hysteria, is nothing but bangers.

Back in the 70's and 80's it was just Rock N Roll :)

Def Leppard are rock and roll hall of fame legendary, still selling out stadiums

80s rock will always be #1

Def Leppard is my favorite band of all time.  I have dealt with a lot of depression in my life and when I saw Rick Allen for the first time, I realized that if he could do it, so could I.  My son is named in his honor.

Gen X here 67 vintage, this is in my wheelhouse !  This was one of my guilty pleasure favorite groups. The album Pyromania doesn't have a bad song on it. I was a teenager when they came out, I saw them in concert live and this was when musicians were on point, live in every concert, no lip syncing.
This is what we called hair Metal, because at the same time you had Thrash or Speed Metal like Metallica and Megadeath.
There are many sub groups of Metal but Metal is Metal.
