The Hands on Hedges DVD was produced to help people understand hedgerows and how to manage them. In 2024, it was converted to a digital format to allow it to be seen more widely. The series features 5 videos with step-by-step guides on how to plant new hedgerows, lay them, and grow hedging plants from seed.
Please Note: We do not recommend the use of herbicides except for the management of invasive species.
Hedgerow Information: Hedgerows Ireland (previously the Hedge Laying Association of Ireland).
Filmed & Produced by Stephen Hanley.
Funded: Heritage Council and the Irish Environmental Network.
