I'm trying to determine what the 100 most iconic sportscards are of the 1990s. As a warmup here are the cards I consider the most iconic of 1989, what do you think?

The Costas card is underrated. Great pick.

Thinking about Bowman, those Griffey cards are quite horrendous (in my opinion) & I don't remember them being very popular. However the Bowman reprints were quite unique & memorable, even though they had no value.
Also, in 1989 Gary Sheffield was almost as popular as Griffey. As a Brewers fan, he was OUR Griffey. And his 1989 Topps card was iconic with the color match & fancy dental work. The Nolan Ryan football card was also pretty hot at the time.
Honorable mentions: Jerome Walton, Jeffries, Abbott, Flash Gordon.
I love your videos. I grew up in the 80s & 90s and I collected a lot back then but I still learn something new from your historical vids. Not to be one of those guys, but you could be a literal college professor in the sports card industry.

Great topic!
I have been a baseball only collector for 40 years and there are a million top cards of the 80’s card lists on YouTube. You rarely see a top cards of the 90’s list. There is even a PSA baseball registry set on the Top 100 baseball cards of the 80’s, which I love, but I have been waiting for a top 100 90’s baseball cards for years.

Barry was great but I always remember the game where he rushed for negative yards.
I’m a big fan of the Kid Bowman card.
The Expo powder blue always stands out.
I’ll probably be adding Santa cards lol. Good stuff!

You did a great job with the baseball card list of 1989 and you definitely hit the top 2 IMO, which would be the 89 Upper Deck Griffey and the 89 Fleer FF Bill Ripken. I do like that you went with the Bowman Griffey and the Donruss Randy Johnson, as that would be my favorite Johnson RC and my second favorite Griffey RC. My list would go like this:
1. 89 UD Griffey
2. 89 Fleer FF Bill Ripken
3. 89 Bowman Griffey
4. 1989 UD Dale Murphy Reverse Negative
5. 89 Fleer Randy Johnson Marlboro Ad on Scoreboard
6. 89 Donruss Griffey Rated Rookie
7. 89 Topps Traded Griffey
8. 89 UD Randy Johnson
9. 89 Donruss Baseball’s Best Sammy Sosa
10. 89 Topps Randy Johnson
1. 89 UD Griffey
2. 89 Fleer FF Bill Ripken
3. 89 Bowman Griffey
4. 1989 UD Dale Murphy Reverse Negative

7. 89 Topps Traded Griffey
