In the EMS world, we have what is called 'the golden hour'. from injury to hospital should never take more than an hour. After an hour, depending on how bad the trauma, organs will start failing, infections will spread, and sepsis becomes even more of a danger.

I used to run ems irl before moving to bigger better things and you are absolutely correct. Some calls would be time consuming like this, but in the case of gsw and other life threatening scenarios it’s known as load and go. Get them in the rig asap and move.
