We’re retired and we love our retirement house with a nice backyard and garden space for my gardening hobby . It’s also close to a golf course where my husband plays golf and do our morning walk in a nearby trail . I still enjoy my jewelries and vintage bags that are now in vogue and going back in time for my daughter and granddaughter to enjoy as hand me downs when the time comes.
As retirees we have a living will to have all our precious possessions and property that will be handed over to our children when the time comes.

let go of too many plants in the garden. maintain only a few you can maintain - food plants, herbs and low maintenance plants

Enjoying the fruit of your labor is part of retirement that includes hobby and passion for sports car or boats or luxury bags.. the main thing is if one has done their retirement plan accordingly.. one should know their retirement funds so they know how much is the budget for all the things they enjoy doing.. as you said we cannot take all this to our graves.. just enjoy retirement responsibly.. plan ahead so we can live comfortably..

My husband and I agree with your message-- Simplify your life for retirement. Many people (not all) experience a natural decline in cognitive capabilities as they age. Given this, it just makes sense to us to keep things as simple as possible. We try to eliminate complexity. We're in our late 50's. We're trying to take care of things now so we won't have to make so many major decisions later in our 60s, 70s, 80s. This is the first time we've seen your channel. We downsized 20 years ago with 1648 sq ft knowing we would want a smaller hose before retiring since our kids didn’t live with us anymore. The best decision.

Cute ni tatay. He checks wife every so often as if checking if wife agrees to what he’s saying hahaha. But I do love this topic. Actually, I think I should have this lifestyle. I don’t have kids (almost menopause na) so I don’t think I will need a big house. I have dogs. So I probably need a wide yard.
