I always thought how cool it was for the safest and low profile place Andor and Bix could hide out for their missions was the freaking capital of the galaxy. There’s a seemingly infinite number of faces on that planet. Keep your head down, and they’ll never know.

One of the tragic things about Syril and Dedra is that as weird and emotionally stunted as their relationship was it was probably one of the best things either of them ever had in their messed up lives.

Deedra’s apartment looks like what if the Apple Store and Legoland had a love-child.

Your apartment is such a mood. Looks like a Coruscant night out there.

"If you wanna make money on Coruscant, invest in scaffolding."
That's one of the best Star Wars jokes I've ever heard.  I legitimately laughed out.  Thank you, sir.

Stylistically, Dedra’s apartment mirrors Narkina 5 very closely. I don’t think that’s remotely accidental.

I think that the contrast between Dedra/Cyril and Andor/Bix shows us how the empire has nothing to offer to its loyalists other than itself, whereas the resistance is fighting for *something*. Andor and Bix know how to love and how to live, how to get simple pleasures from simple moments. The scene of them holding hands in an empty apartment is one of the best depictions of love that I've ever seen. Meanwhile, Dedra and Cyril don't know what to do with each other when they're left alone. They could've just settled in her luxury apartment and lived happily ever after, but they can't because they don't know anything other than work. They go back to being long distance and focusing on work in the imperial war machine because neither of them had ever seen love and relationships as children and they never worked on overcoming it. Andor and Bix are constantly tempted to quit fighting because they have something else to live for. Dedra and Cyril have nothing to live for other than the empire. And this contrast is truly tragic

Anakin crashing the invisible hand into coruscant just raised my taxes.

One thing I noticed in Andor is that most everything was gray, and the safe house apartment was a bit of a gray mess while the grandparent's apartment a floor off was brighter, had more colors, and was overall a bit more warm.

Honestly, keeping people desperate and barely scraping by is more of a feature of these systems than a bug. If the masses have to focus all their energy on surviving, they can't do anything to resist their betters.

dude it looks like you are living on Coruscant

I always thought some properties there would be empty. Too expensive for the median income, too cheap for for those with money. The empire take plenty of them and disperse them as part of the renumeration package .

The lack of human connection in Dendra Meero's residence reminds me of when Kallus escaped that ice cave with Zeb, saw Zeb's warm welcome from the Ghost crew, and finally returned to his sterile Star Destroyer with no companionship.

12:00 Actually, there were backup bridges on the Executor, but Piett had them shutdown because he wanted to be in complete control. When the A wing crashed into the bridge, there wasn't enough time to bring any of them online, and due to the damage to the engines and the proximity to the second Death Star, it was pulled down by it's gravity.

She's got that Abeloth smile

Allen, you are a world-class creator, my dude.

Given that Coruscant is over 5,000 levels deep experiencing real sunlight would in itself be quite a luxury. What you describe here is eerily similar to the housing situation in modern day China.

Hey Alan, I am rewatching the clone wars and it struck me how often Anakin was put in situations where his extremely advanced knowledge of mechanics, engineering, and star fighters were the only reason he survived. Like in season 2 episode 16 he manages to learn the capabilities of this completely unique prototype stealth ship within what I presume was less than 10 hours and expertly command and fly it pushing it to it’s maximum. Had anyone else been in the command seat they wouldn’t have been able to achieve his outcome and if they were stupid enough to engage trench they would have certainly died. I don’t know if you’ve made a video about anakin’s book smarts and extremely advanced engineering and mechanical abilities but I think it would be interesting to talk about.

I’m absolutely gobsmacked over the quality and depth of this analysis.  As a 30 year real estate professional I was expecting a comparison of lifestyles but what you delivered has depth relevance and sophistication.  Thank you and i am now an enthusiastic subscriber.

The two apartments are like the cabins and engineering spaces on a luxury liner. You aren’t supposed to live in them full-time. They are both devoid of life.
