In an interview with Grigory German, Dmitry "Apostle" Karpenko harshly examines the real state of the Russian army, the prospect of a new mobilization, internal conflicts within the troops, and the situation in Crimea and the Russian economy.
The main thesis is that a new mobilization in Russia, according to Apostle, is practically inevitable. He speaks of a shortage of personnel at the front and describes a situation where a new Russian soldier can go from conscription to the front lines in just a few days. At the same time, even a very large additional recruitment, in his opinion, will not solve Russia's key problem: an outdated strategy, weak organization, and technological backwardness.
A separate indicator is the Russian offensive. "Apostol" explains that grandiose figures about captured territory on a vast front line may, in reality, represent an advance of only tens or hundreds of meters. So-called "flag-pointing" allows for the prettiness of maps, but does not change the strategic situation.
An even more telling story concerns the "Rubicon" unit. According to "Apostol," Russian military personnel contact him directly and transmit the coordinates of Rubicon's positions because they are in conflict with them over electronic warfare, resources, and supplies. In one of the cases described, a Russian pilot literally requested the destruction of a neighboring unit's crew.
"Apostol" asserts that some Russian servicemen no longer believe in victory. Some are involved with Ukraine for money, others out of hatred for the system or a simple desire to survive, and some are simply saying, "Come on, defeat us."
At the same time, Russians are trying to figure out how to avoid a new mobilization. The interview discusses a possible scenario involving stricter digital controls after the elections, restrictions on VPNs and messaging apps, and mass mailings of subpoenas.
The economy is also gradually changing public behavior. People are beginning to feel the effects of attacks on warehouses and logistics, a deterioration in their financial situation, falling wages, and rising prices. Apostol believes that a real internal turnaround is possible when the problems reach the banking system and the public sector begins to experience serious difficulties with payments.
Crimea is a separate issue. Apostol believes that the peninsula's logistics are already seriously disrupted, and Ukraine's main goal is to minimize the supply of fuel, ammunition, and other resources to the southern group of Russian troops. According to him, the next telling step will be an even deeper cutoff of Crimea from Russian resources.
