Having been recently schooled by BBC Breakfast presenters in the art of interviewing, I took those lessons into my own interview with Sleaford Mods' frontman Jason Williamson. Bizarrely, there was no mention of my mobile phone usage and I got his name right so it turned out quite well!

It's refreshing to hear such an honest interview. Thank you both.

Justin Hawkins interviewing Jason Williamson!? This is the true meaning of Christmas

You're clearly a better interviewer than most on telly! A natural!

Thing with aging is it's hard to find stuff that really excites you cos you've heard everything before. But first hearing Sleaford Mods properly excited me, like when I first heard The Fall as a teenager. It was a WTF moment... deliciously ugly . ❤

Jason is a great example of hard work and persistence , it's never too late to make it .

So great to hear Artists without any media gatekeepers

This is one reason why 'You Tube' interviews are popular. The people doing the interviewing are either in the profession or at the least very enthusiastic about what their guests have to say. Most day time tele is like your gran interviewing you favourite band

It's the antithesis of a BBC interview: nothing off limits, actual humor, real insight. Well done!

In fairness, and i dont know too much about the ins and outs of it, but i think david bowie took a fair amount of vitamins too in his day.

I like Tom Waits attitude. As soon as critics liked what he did he saw it as the beginning of the end and changed tac. He was generally unaware of whether he was currently successful. He said his albums were like animals he'd rehabilitated, once he released them into the wild he wished them well and that was that.

I cannot tell you how much I love the Sleaford Mods, and if I was a young woman, I'd fly straight there and take my chances. However, I'm not, so I will appreciate them musically. They're every-man type poetry for the struggling. For the bleakness. They give us hope through the toughness and facelessness. I loved cocaine, too! I even did it the bad, junkie type way! You couldn't pay me $10K US to do a line now, thank jah. I wish you had a talk show, Justin. You're a great interviewer, and I thank you for introducing me to all the music you've introduced me to!

As soon as I hear Jason’s voice I relax and think “thanks god, I’m not gonna be bullshitted for a bit”

Lots of love for the Mods. From the States.

It’s hard to get inspiration to do anything creative when you live in survival mode, but the sparks come every now and then… This conversation is making feel like making music again though, maybe something acoustic because my electric meter is extortionate! 28:09
