Hearing President Kennedys voice made me homestick for better times.   His words made me cry because we didn’t get to make the future he envisioned for our country.

In Vietnam the only hope we had was Bob hope

60 years ago this month I saw Bob at AnKhe, Vietnam. It was a wonderful day in a scary place. Thanks for the memories.

I was born, raised and served in the US Navy. I never met Bob Hope. But, every time I see this, I shed tears for what he did for all who served this country for generations. Hard to watch this each time since my glasses get messed up.

Kirk Douglas, the speaker introducing Bob Hope, just died in February 2020 at age 103.

Back when they honored artists instead of celebrities.

A  perfect tribute to One of the best. The Kennedy  Center is one of the best tributes ever.

I was on that show as a trumpeter with the USAF Band. One of the highlights of 20 years of service. Bob Hope is amazing and his support for the military was inspiring. Also having the opportunity to have a meaningful conversation with Danny Thomas was memorable.

He should also have received THE FIRST Mark Twain Prize.  Never got one.  What a joke!
