Very interesting technique. I haven't seen this before. I really like the coral type impression and could make for a fabulous background session for watery type themes or as snowflakes scene as you suggested. Thank you for sharing and wishing you happy travels! 😊

It's a very addictive technique Nicola. I discovered this year's ago pressing two CD blanks together with acrylic paint it made lovely seaweed and coral for a "Birthday Fishes" card. I did use more paint so it made a whole underwater scene. I didn't know this technique had a name, so thanks for that information. I discovered a few weeks ago after being given a set of metallic paint pens which left a line of colour around the metalic silver, so I wouldn't use these for colouring. I had no idea what to use them for, they didn't blend in water so I guessed that they were alcohol based. They splodged a puddle of ink when I  shook them then depressed the nibs to get the ink to flow I pumped a squirt of hand sanitiser to clean it up but was delighted to see the reaction. I pressed another lightweight card over this, it separated into organic metalic coral shapes when I lifted it. The bonus was that the coloured pigment had then soaked through the 160gsm card/ thicker paper creating a lovely mottled blended coloured card on the reverse. So alcohol inks or paint pens can be used with hand sanitiser gel too.

They are beautiful Nicola! I love dendritic patterns. I've got a lot of Nuvo Embellishment Mousses, and when I'm mopping up, I spray what's left on my desk, press paper down onto it, pull up, which leaves a dendritic pattern, then press down again to pick up. I think it might be the mica in it, so possibly would work with the metallic paints or similar products. It can look like glaciers, very organic. Have a wonderful holiday ❤

Great technique!  I think watercolour in tubes would work fine!

You might want to try adding a bit of “open” medium next time, to keep the paint wet longer
