Why The UFC Erased Their First Superstar | Tito Ortiz

Flashback MMA

Why did the UFC erase one of its biggest stars? Tito Ortiz was once the face of the company, helping carry the UFC through its early years and turning it into a global brand. But behind the success, tensions with Dana White began to build, from contract disputes and public accusations to refusing key fights, including against Chuck Liddell at the height of their rivalry. As the relationship broke down, Ortiz’s standing within the company changed, and his contributions were gradually pushed aside. Had to re-upload this as the original had an issue 🤦‍♂️ Appreciate everyone who watched it before. If you can drop a hype, like and comment again it really helps push it back out 🙌 Thank you everyone, and sorry to anyone who was mid-way through watching when I took it down 😩

nothing makes me cringe harder than Dana saying he would have won in a fight with Tito.

Dana thinking Tito was afraid to fight him is seriously hilarious.

Tito lives here in my town now, Cape Coral FL, he coaches the high school wrestling team and owns a popular restaurant and everybody loves him here. Super approachable too, loves taking pics with fans

Watch how the employer reacts when employees or contractors talk about pay and labor issues. Their reaction tells you everything you need to know on whether they are a great or trash employer. Eventually, fighters will realize that they now have multiple avenues to make life changing money. Unfortunately, even today, fighters think that being exploited is the only path.

Say what you want about Tito, he's a big reason why the UFC is where it is today. He was their star and made sure to entertain the fans. He was also talking about fighter pay 20 years ago. He definitely deserves his recognition for what he's done for MMA.

Everything including glue?! That explains a lot. Tito turned out pretty good all this considered.

Tito was one of the first fighters that drew me into watching the ufc. I was a skinny, nerdy kid and loved watching him with his strength, confidence, and no eff's given attitude.

Dana White is very ungrateful I’m sorry he doesn’t appreciate his fighters. It’s like he always talking shit about people who made his fucking company.

@Ken_Adams80 5 months ago

Typical Dana. He renegotiates Tito’s “unfair” contract just so he can rip him off himself afterward 😂

Over the last 20 years I have become convinced Dana is a complete total scumbag. I used to admire him thinking he was a non nonsense kind of guy but now.. ugh.. he just seems scuzzy to me.
