Love the video! one thing I would also like to point out in addition to the topography of the hill, concealing the approach of the Texian army it would also have not been well manicured like it is present day… in 1836 that field would’ve been full of chest high or taller Prairie grass

This is the only 1 place i have not had a chance to see yet. I don't live very far from the Alamo; I've been there. I've seen Goliad, Gonzales, and Washington-on-the-Brazos. Great video guys, im glad someone did a good historical account of the battle...Thx.

Without this battle (or if Houston loses) the change for the USA and entire world is enormous. The US never gets a quarter of its land, Mexico becomes much stronger and 70 years later the oil in Texas (and California, let alone silver and copper and uranium the US would need later but not have) would not change the US as it did; thus the US is likely a smaller power, which affects WW1 and WW2. This battle is much more important for US and world history than many realise.

The Battle of San Jacinto is also among the most forgotten of battles, at least outside of Texas. It deserves a much larger place in American history. Consider its importance. In a matter of minutes, a war the Mexicans were winning was lost. The Republic of Texas was then created which then became the state of Texas. A clear line of events from this battle to the Mexican Cession can be drawn.

If the land area of Texas and the Mexican Cession are combined, it would constitue the largest area added to the United States. This area is larger the the area of the original United States, larger than the Lousiania Purchase, and larger than the Alaska purchase.  Even so most Amaricans barely know of this battle and have never heard of the Mexican Cession.
