This is so inspiring!  I've always wanted to build a bed platform but would have space to put my feet down when putting my boots on and off.  Love it, will be looking for a used one off of fbm

I see a project in my future.  I've got a Ram 1500 with the legacy Decked system I installed the week I bought the truck new in 2022, love the hell out of it, and yeah, it's got all the junk in it.  I've since installed a Tune M1 camper, and kept the full Decked system.  I'm 5'10" so there's enough headroom with the canopy up, but your idea is intriguing just to avoid the damned duckwalk under the hatch, and freeing up some space.  Side note, Topo Topper Rincon was my first choice, but Tune had a ready-to-go unit in stock, and Denver is a lot closer than San Diego from Central Florida.  I've got some videos up on my channel showing how I set it up on a budget and keeping the Decked.

It looks like it works pretty good. Ill give you credit for repurposing something you already bought. What you did makes sense If you couldnt get a decent amount for selling it. Its logical imo if it would have cost you much more to buy or custom build a similar unit then you would have gotten for selling the decked unit. Which im sure it would have.

I did the exact same thing with my drawer system on my Toyota Tacoma and my topper. It worked out for awhile but I opted to remove the last drawer from my truck. I still have the drawers but now I think I’m going to put it in another truck.
