Oh and the reason it’s called “post” is that important information used to be nailed to a post in the centre of the town/village. Hence the term “keep me posted” which means keep me up to date with the current news.
But as I said before: USA English is NOT a language nor a dialect or an accent. It's a SPEECH IMPEDIMENT!!
On the other hand real English also misses logic. Just look at the letter combination "ou" as in colour, hour, through, thought, though, four. The same letters, but pronounced different every time!!!!
