Which type of hacks have been your favorite so far? Kaizo style? Great aesthetics? New mechanics?

To quote the Angry Video Game Nerd: "...How about if I made a game where there's just this one cliff you have to jump over and it's like nearly impossible, but if you do it, you win the game and that's it."

the piranna plant in the bush should be called piranna ambush

I want to see a compilation of you saying “small fire” and missing it that’s the funniest thing ever

I really miss the "sup friends" intro :(

We say "what's up", but no one asks "how's up".

9:00 he actually pooped fire ngl

11:42 - A moment of silence for all the levels missing between 2-2 and 2-TRofPipe

I love the inevitable moment of Kosmic surprise in these rom hacks, like at 16:37 in this on with Sonic the Spiny Friend.

11:54 “we should name them something like piranha plant”

He said that you only see them in 8-1 of Lost Levels, you also see them in the warp zone of 4-2 with worlds 6 7 and 8

22:48 Interesting. Didn't know that the game sets Mario's palette to a completely black one at the end. Always thought it just put the sprite behind the background tiles, kinda like piranhas are (and how white blocks work in SMB3

Literally right before the end of the first level I said don't get dunked on and he hits a kaizo block and falls into the pit LOL

I'm sorry but the surprise yet half expected kaizo blocks will always be the funniest shit to me

22:47 Sprite order can override sprite priority (depth) between one another before the background is drawn. In other words, spiny was drawn, then Mario is drawn over it, then when background is drawn, priority is finally taken into account. SMB3 puts sprites behind the pipe when anything enters or exits it rather than placing Mario/plant/goomba behind the pipe. SNES games can use the same trick as well.

man i was like "i missed romhack wednesday" but then i see my comment on second level at 3:54 saying "i finally made it to homhack wednesday while it was tuesday for me xD

Kaizo!
Edit: I was thinking the exact same thing Kosmic. It looks almost identical to mario frustration in a way.

10:56 piranha bushes

People always ask "what is up?", nobody ever asks "how is up?"

"hammer bros always looking right after you fall" - thats cuz after you fall - you still go to the right for some time, and they just follow you
