NOTE: I'm reporting on this story to provide context to these leaks based on the Xbox homebrew scene from the old days. As mentioned this 'leak' isn't anything new to many that were around back then. I have no idea where this current leak has come from nor am i interested in it other than from a historical/preservation aspect <3

Since the companies won't preserve their art, it's up to the community!

Wild to imagine, that there are groups out there that have had access to this stuff before the release and also how many other systems might actually be fully out there, but only shared in these small circles :o

The first person I wanted to hear from regarding this news.

In my opinion, Leaks like this are important to save the retro stuff in the museum for historical purposes..

Isn't it funny how the console that is by far the closest to a Windows PC is so difficult to emulate?

Seeing all the different angles of the BIOS animation never gets old.

This guy transferred all available hair to his eyebrows.

Imagine the scenes when PS3 source code gets out in A few years...

ITS ALSO BEING REPORTED THAT THERE ARE NO POWER BANK ADS ON THIS VIDEO

We cant say this is og xbox this is the Direct x-box

I remember when I was 12 when the xbox modding community started releasing modchips and software, I went to a big box store to get an xbox game. There was an official xbox bus that was setup outside doing demos and touring around. I struck up a conversation with one of the xbox reps and started talking about the modding community with him. Take this with a grain of salt... but he strongly insinuated that there were devs from the xbox team he was friends with that were leaking, and lowkey contributing to porting, along with creating homebrew for community in their spare time. I remember thinking there is no way that's true. But the way lowered his voice when talked about it like a dirty secret and looked serious seemed like he was telling the truth. But again, he could have just been bullshitting a 12 year old.

Thinking about the hidden Easter egg in the boot animation drove me nuts earlier this year, so this is just the BEST NEWS

Why do I get the feeling from the video that MVG is absolutely sure that this leak was around since 2002 because he has had it since then.

everything is leaking atm 3DS Source Code leaked recently too I had to explain to some people how I can't use really anything from it on my fork of Citra. You gotta wonder how all these leaks are going out.

"There aren't probably many people or businesses still using Windows NT 3.5, so this leak isn't likely to become a security risk"
Operators of national safety level critical matters, hospitals, banks, nuclear power plants, the pentagon, insurance companies, alphabet organizations you've never heard of etc: Oh shhhhhhhh

lol this video was riped and is now part of the 47 gig torrent file with the XP Source (including the Xbox source code) going around. You can find it under the media folder...

all those Intro Animation changes and yet nobody has been able to find that Easter Egg hidden in that intro scene one of the devs mentioned some time ago

Everyone's commenting without watching the actual video lol

I remember when someone added support for larger hard drives in a custom bios.  Pretty hard to patch that without the complete source code.
